I decided it was time to do some work to my small classic sebenza. The handles were in need of refinishing, so I went to work with some scotch-brite. An hour or so later, I had a nice even satin finish.

I've always liked the plainness of a plain sebenza, but I decided I'd like to add a little bit of texture and flash to my knife. I decided to add a "Striderish Gunner-Gripesque" pattern. All and all, I'm very pleased with the results. I think it looks pretty sharp, there is definately more grip available while pulling it from the pocket, and nobody else has one exactly like it. Cool

Please tell me what you think. Honest opinions only. Whether you like it or think I completely ruined the knife, let me know.

Nicely done. Fairly symmetrical and professional looking.

It's your knife after all, if what've you've done pleases you, that's where the rubber meets the road.

I think Reeve wouldn't have any problem with a tasteful modification on a working knife that improves functionality. And let's face it, on a knife that gets used, there are few things that give you the willies more than the thought of having your hand slide forward on an ultrasharp blade, cutting you to the bone.

Looks good to me,
BOSS

You'd probably believe me Wink

I'm a machinist by trade, so I have access to some nice CNC machinery at work.

there may be some purists out there who disagree with me, but i think you made that sebanza far better than original.

Nice! Many years ago, some Japanese guy claimed that dimples provide the best possible grip. He stuck 'em on everything -- tennis rackets, golf clubs, pistol handles, even in the pocket of a baseball glove. He presented a lot of data to prove his point and seemed so sure of himself. I looked for everyone to follow suit but never really saw it. Maybe aesthetics or unique manufacturer looks. I don't know but it works well on your Sebenza and surely would make it a better tool.

This may be a stupid question, and is off topic, but what does the MM stand for on the one side. I have a Custom Classic Sebenza with the same MM on the side.

Thanks in advance!

It is a Classic 2000. From 2000 to 2008 they remade the classic Sebenza style and called the Classic 2000.
