MUCH better than the 1930 original. Errol Flynn was terrific in the remake..

Chock full of anti war messages.

By far one of my all time favorites.
It's a great gun cleaning movie.

Funny, years ago, the two movies that I would watch while cleaning guns in the family room are The Great Escape and Kelly's Heroes. Always those two, plus my young son loved them.

Other movies pertaining to this thread-

The Godfather
Bad News Bears (Walter Matthau)
Citizen Kane
Aliens
Jaws
The Searchers
Stepbrothers
Dirty Harry

We usually wait a few years before watching a movie again. Among our favorites:

Band of Brothers
Fiddler on the Roof
Hondo
How the West Was Won
The Last Picture Show
Michael
Porky's
Shane

Just about any movie about fighter pilots. Thats what I wanted to be when I was a kid. I was even taking flying lessons near Grants, New Mexico, when I met this lovely blonde. I never did get back to flying lessons but I've had a wonderful life with her.
