And I thought melting the light and setting my range bag on fire was bad. Who knew it could have been worse.

I'd like to hear Surefire's response. I'm thinking a minimum of a new free light.

I'm more concerned with how to prevent this from happening?
From skimming the OP's link, it looks like something called vent discharge.
And it only happens with stacked CR123s.
It kind of freaks me out because I keep a G2 on my nightstand.

I remember seeing a lithium ion phone battery expolode somewhere.

There are a boatload of lithium powered flashlights out there and multiple boatloads of lithium batteries to power them, plus all the other cameras and everything else that uses them. They can explode, but the odds are so tiny, I'll take that chance. No telling how many people have beem "hurt" because they had crappy lights while during a building search or vehicle stop or adverse light gunfight.

Sit in a hospital room sometime and count all the stuff in there that can kill you......

It would seem that if you arrange lithium cr123 in the proper mathematically designed pattern around a G22 you may achieve critical mass Eek
