I’m not an expert even though it’s my car. There are 2 radars in the front and rear bumpers but they are just for short distance detection. Camera in the windshield controls the other items. Also controls auto dimming headlights. Honestly I don’t use a lot of these options. Just came in the package I got. They told me start of change to finish of calibration is 3 to 4 hours.

You'll have to forgive me. I drive a almost 20 year old Ford truck that has a photocell in the top of the dash to tell the headlights to come on. That's the most high tech feature of the truck. Its also the only automated aspect of the truck. Smile

On a BMW, the HUD (Head Up Display) requires calibration after a windshield replacement.

It really is.
Are those features "neat"? Sure. Necessary? No.
But... it takes very little to 'total' a car these days. All that does is drive up the cost of insurance. Crazy.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
