He actually HAS learned a lesson, but like all Dems/Libs he's not about to admit to anything. If he honestly admitted that he had learned a lesson, then he would have to admit that:

Ha! Good post....

There are two types of Democrats:

1. Those who are naive enough to believe that socialism works...

2. Those who are liars and only use the rhetoric to manipulate and gain power, buying votes with OPM (other people's money).

It's clear in which category you place this Illinois AG candidate!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I'd have a hard time making that statement with a straight face.

Of course they were targeted.
These predators saw them as soft and weak.
An easy target which would not offer up any resistance.

I think I have to agree. Here's a quote from him regarding the "kids" who robbed him:

“I am still optimistic and still believe that fundamentally we are all good — we are all redeemable,” Goldstein said. “We can get these kids back on the right path.”

The robbery happened a few blocks from where Goldstein and his family live, the candidate said.

“I am fine, and I will be fine,” Goldstein said. “I will continue to live in my community and I will continue to enjoy my beautiful neighborhood that my family calls home.”

Given the above list of Chicago negatives, I am sure there are some things in Chicago that are better. Maybe. A little.

I bet the presented as elite parts of Chicago are pretty much run by rich white males

The incident took place in Albany Park."

From Wikipedia - Albany Park, Chicago
quote:
Albany Park (/ˈɔːlbəni pɑːrk/) is one of 77 well-defined community areas of Chicago. Located on the Northwest Side of the City of Chicago, it includes the Albany Park neighborhood, one of the most ethnically diverse in the United States. It has one of highest percentages of foreign-born residents of any Chicago neighborhood.

Although the majority of those foreign-born residents are from Latin America, the mostly from Mexico (especially from the state of Michoacán), Guatemala, and Ecuador, substantial numbers are from the Philippines, India, Korea, Cambodia, Somalia, the Former Yugoslavia (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia), Romania, Pakistan and the Middle East (especially Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon). Over 40 different languages are spoken in its public schools.

Doesn't mention Amish, shockingly.

Good luck with that, how about reporting back in 3 or 4 years?

Goldstein also said:

“All my staff acted calmly and courageously and did the right thing by handing over their property to the robbers.” Goldstein said Friday during a news conference at the Irish American Heritage Center in the Mayfair neighborhood. “Most importantly, none of us were harmed.”

Ohh, thankfully your people just acted like sheep. Just the way you want them. Roll Eyes

IIRC, Goldstein is a supervisor for the Public Defenders Office. Hopefully his office can represent theses fine, young, upstanding members of the community if they are caught.

Way to earn some street cred, Mr. Goldstein.

Campaign stunt? Wake up. They filed a police report. They have reported items stolen, including cellphones. This was not a "stunt". Do you actually have trouble believing that events transpired as described? Really? You find it difficult to believe that a bunch of well-dressed, out-of-place-looking white guys carrying expensive equipment were robbed on the street in Chicago? GMAFB

Of course I do not have trouble believing that a bunch of well dressed white guys could get robbed in Chicago. But I also know dirty and deceitful the Democrats are in Chicago. I also know how they will sink to any level to succeed in winning an election. They were not in a bad area so they wouldn't look out of place either. And what better way to bring publicity to a virtually unknown candidate and a lackluster campaign not to mention giving more support for more gun control laws in Chicago than to stage a phoney robbery. And let's not forget that the "victim" in this case is the same guy that stood before the court and the press and told them what a wonderful guy former Gov. Rod Blagoyovich was when he was on trial for public corruption and he was co-counsel. They filed a police report. So what? No witnesses, no identification of any possible offenders. People file false reports all the time. But to answer your question, yes I think it's entirely possible that this was a PR stunt. Is it an absolute? No,of course not. But it's Chicago and nothing surprises me here anymore.
