What about lyme disease, Ebola, Spanish flu, West Nile Virus, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Norovirus, Zika Virus, German measles, Lassa Fever, and many more? Is it silly that we keep calling these diseases by those names?

Note that Europe has now abandoned the Schengen borderless idea and individual countries are locking down their borders with their EU neighbors. Also, Italy’s EU neighbors were supposed to send medical supplies under their treaties and did not.

Another issue which is arising with the Wuhan Virus is federalism: Trump is telling state governments that the Feds will back them, but they should get needed equipment and supplies locally if they can because they can move more quickly than the Feds. Yeah, the NYT lied about that, implied Trump said “You’re on your own”.

Claiming Europe has "abandoned" the Shengen agreement is a bit hyperbolic. They've suspended it, to varying degrees, but not entirely abandoned it. What this does illustrate, however, is that Europe is not yet quite as integrated as Brussels would like it to be.

I believe President Trump should organize another SOTU speech. Call both chambers of Congress in. That would piss of Pelosi to NO END seeing how she pretty much just told everyone to go home...
