As soon as he said it I told my wife he'll be accused of calling for vigilantism. That's kinda how I heard it and maybe it's time for the right to gather in defense of our country.

He finished close to midnight east coast and I needed to head to bed but I really felt like putting on a pot of BRCC Freedom Roast and cleaning my guns while singing our National Anthem.

I read the speech this morning. It was excellent. I saw a few of the retorts from the usual suspects (NYT, WaPo, etc). Absolutely nauseating. Many people are calling this speech a rebranding of the campaign, setting the tone for what this country is up against and I agree. I think this is the correct path. For the past few months the silence from the conservatives has been disgusting (as has the inaction been). I'm grad he finally went no holds barred on the left. Now we need to pressure our representatives to follow his lead.

Happy Fourth to everyone!!!

Trump’s speech last night was one of his best speeches of his Presidency. Spot on throughout and spoke for most American’s. Not sure how anyone could argue anything he said and sleep at night.

President Trump on Friday announced the creation of a National Garden of American Heroes to pay tribute to historically significant Americans.

The full list of proposed heroes is: John Adams, Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, Daniel Boone, Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, Henry Clay, Davy Crockett, Frederick Douglass, Amelia Earhart, Benjamin Franklin, Billy Graham, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Luther King, Jr., Abraham Lincoln, Douglas MacArthur, Dolley Madison, James Madison, Christa McAuliffe, Audie Murphy, George S. Patton, Jr., Ronald Reagan, Jackie Robinson, Betsy Ross, Antonin Scalia, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Harriet Tubman, Booker T. Washington, George Washington, and Orville and Wilbur Wright.

The list is almost certain to cause controversy, both by who is included and who is not.

I stayed up and watched the speech; I'm two time zones east of Mt. Rushmore, so it was 10:30 when he took the stage.

Earlier in the day, former campaign manager Steve Bannon said that all Trump needs to do to win re-election is to act presidential.

I saw a president up on stage last night.

I woke up to see a news headline... seems to have been retracted now but damn...

It read something like this (from memory)

Trump pushes racial division at Mt Rushmore celebration.

If it ain't woke... don't fix it.

In many parts of the world, this gesture is the equivalent of giving the middle finger. DJT has only just begun to fight.

Last night during his Independence Day celebration speech, the president announced an executive order (EO) to create a "National Garden" to celebrate America's heroes. This wasn't just speechifying: The EO has been issued, and its full text can be read here.

What a surprise. AOL is carrying a Huff Post story with the headline "Maskless Trump pushes racial division in speech at Rushmore."

The sad thing is there are low information voters who actually believe everything they read.what they read...

Yeah, he was picking on the poor socialists.

This attack on our liberty, our magnificent liberty must be stopped and it will be stopped very quickly. We will expose this dangerous movement, protect our nation’s children from this radical assault, and preserve our beloved American way of life. In our schools, our newsrooms, even our corporate boardrooms, there is a new far-left fascism that demands absolute allegiance. If you do not speak its language, perform its rituals, recite its mantras, and follow its commandments, then you will be censored, banished, blacklisted, persecuted, and punished. It’s not going to happen to us.

It is time for our politicians to summon the bravery and determination of our American ancestors. It is time. It is time to plant our flag and to protect the greatest of this nation for citizens of every race in every city in every part of this glorious land. For the sake of our honor, for the sake of our children, for the sake of our union, we must protect and preserve our history, our heritage, and our great heroes. Here tonight before the eyes of our forefathers, Americans declare again, as we did 244 years ago, that we will not be tyrannized, we will not be demeaned, and we will not be intimidated by bad, evil people. It will not happen.

Yes, don't forget, when your country is being raped, the President should just take it without fighting back.

The President and Governor Noem both gave fantastic speeches. People need to start standing up for what they believe in and stop cowering to the left.

Edited to add, I wish we had more governor's like her. Not only is she easy on the eyes, she's tough as nails.

I am glad to be able to say that I recognized every name.

But anyone who believes it would be remotely possible to please everyone with such a list should have their banking account numbers readily available for when the Nigerian prince calls.

transcript of President Trump speech 3 July 2020

https://www.rev.com/blog/trans...re-4th-of-july-event

snip:

1776 represented the culmination of thousands of years of Western civilization and the triumph of not only spirit, but of wisdom, philosophy, and reason. And yet, as we meet here tonight, there is a growing danger that threatens every blessing our ancestors fought so hard for, struggled, they bled to secure. Our nation is witnessing a merciless campaign to wipe out our history, defame our heroes, erase our values, and indoctrinate our children. Angry mobs are trying to tear down statues of our founders, deface our most sacred memorials, and unleash a wave of violent crime in our cities. Many of these people have no idea why they're doing this, but some know what they are doing. They think the American people are weak and soft and submissive, but no, the American people are strong and proud and they will not allow our country and all of its values, history, and culture to be taken from them.

One of their political weapons is cancel culture, driving people from their jobs, shaming dissenters, and demanding total submission from anyone who disagrees. This is the very definition of totalitarianism, and it is completely alien to our culture and to our values and it has absolutely no place in the United States of America.

This attack on our liberty, our magnificent liberty must be stopped and it will be stopped very quickly. We will expose this dangerous movement, protect our nation's children from this radical assault, and preserve our beloved American way of life. It's not going to happen to us.

Make no mistake. This left-wing cultural revolution is designed to overthrow the American Revolution. In so doing they would destroy the very civilization that rescued billions from poverty, disease, violence, and hunger, and that lifted humanity to new heights of achievement, discovery, and progress. To make this possible, they are determined to tear down every statue, symbol, and memory of our national heritage.

Not on my watch.

True. That's very true actually. That is why I am deploying federal law enforcement to protect our monuments, arrest the rioters, and prosecutors offenders to the fullest extent of the law.

...

No movement that seeks to dismantle these treasured American legacies can possibly have a love of America at its heart. Can't happen. No person who remains quiet at the destruction of this resplendent heritage can possibly lead us to a better future. The radical ideology attacking our country advances under the banner of social justice, but in truth, it would demolish both justice and society. It would transform justice into an instrument of division and vengeance and it would turn our free and inclusive society into a place of a repression, domination, and exclusion. They want to silence us, but we will not be silenced.

The President's Mt Rushmore speech ... I haven't heard a President speak on such an occasion, in such plain tones for all to hear.

The walk down the history of building the country; the list of historically significant Americans; the emotion that President Trump, a true American, is setting this country back on a arrow straight course, naught for personal gain, only for America, a country he most assuredly loves.

Watching from a far ...
