Here's the other problem. The tests are very painful. A swab (like a Q-tip) has to be stuck extremely far up your naval cavity. And, the tests are $35-51 (that's COST for the lab) Each to do. I was talking to the owner of the lab that is doing just under 1800 tests a day for over 10% of the states. He has been a very good customer and friend of mine since 2011. The swab has to be tested by molecular testing and only 25 labs in the country are capable of doing the tests aside from Government labs.

The Coronavirus has greatly reduced auto traffic. I walk 4-5 miles most days here in metropolitan San Diego. Much easier to get across the intersections now.

I jaywalk. But I’m very cautious about auto traffic, and think that I’m safer than pedestrians that do observe the “Don’t Walk” signals, but then proceed across the street staring at their phone, oblivious of potential red light runners.

How about the doctors who keep pointing out that the coronavirus is mainly a problem for people over 70 and those with specific health problems?

What if many of those people would have died anyway. What if the coronavirus doesn't meaningfully raise the overall death rate?

I was really looking forward to Barr tearing the Democrats a new one on 3/31 at the judiciary hearing. I put it on my calendar weeks ago before all this shit. Now it's postponed, dammit.

We live in Naples FL, and it has been a ghost town on the roads here the past few mornings, though for some reason, this morning, it almost seemed normal with regards to traffic. It reminds me of a summer/off season day without the schools being open.

My wife and I both work from home anyway, so we are minimally impacted by the hysteria (so far).

I am glad to see the roads busy today. People want to work and have a life. We are doing take-away tomorrow night to support a local business.

I get shit every day from someone because my office is open and running like normal. I tell them that we are taking the same precautions that we take every year during Flu season. Deep cleaning, hand washing and sanitizing.

The other companies in town that do what I do are CLOSED. Not the lobby. The whole business. I'm ramping up efforts to earn their customers' business and it is working.

I'll admit to buying in to the early zombie apocalypse predictions- not that it would but that it could. And I know mutations occur. I assume that the common cold or seasonal influenza could mutate also. I am more worried about a prion like "mad cow" or rabies coming to get me and reanimate the dead.
