If it is the same I bet they de-tuned it for the Escape. The 5.0 in my truck was like this. Once I had a tuner get a hold of it she sure woke up.

I don't remember the band White Lion.
I thought I lived through the 1980s but maybe not.

Kinda like screen doors on a submarine. Physics will get in the way. Use the vehicle as it was intended and it will give you good service. Unless you are willing to spend inordinate amounts of cash, you will not be able to measureably improve the handling of your car. Changing the brand, model, size or type will be a very effective way to make cash leave your account with only marginal results.

They did a cover of Radar Love that had a GT-350 in the video and was played heavily on MTV. I saw them when they opened for Cinderella in 1989. It wasn't the music that I typically listened to, but the girl I took to the concert liked them.

I have to stop reading these car threads. I'm starting to think I could use a fun car.

I have never owned a car that didn't benefit from top of the line tires.
Plus the tune is going to put me at or near the top of it's class for acceleration.

In stock form, the 2017 Escape 2.0L runs 0-60 in 7.1 and my X5 at 7.1 as well.
The Escape with the tune should run near 6.5 0-60, that's plenty good enough for me and slightly better than my 2004 X5 4.4L.

It's gonna be great.

Radar Love, I remember that song, they did that?

Golden Earring did the original in the early 70s.

Sounds like your Escape will be fun. I can't wait for the update with pics when you get it and set it up the way you want.

Interesting diagonal road test of the 4WD system of the 2017 Ford Escape.

Did it do well or did it suck?

Looks pretty good to me, no real momentum and was able to get up over the crest with a front wheel in the air and transition to a rear wheel in the air and then level back out. Looks to be transmitting power to the wheels and you can see the traction control activate. Good for snow and easy offroading.

I wasn't sure what I was looking at.
I only know what 4WD feels like when I do something fancy, not what it looks like.

In the video, the wheels look like the 19s to me.
I would think 18s might do better.
That guy is practically on the rims a couple of times with the weight transfer.

In about a week, I think Ford will generate the VIN and I can track it.

Right now, nothing is happening.

OK now, the VIN has been generated.
According to the Ford tracking website, it will begin production on May 18th, my birthday.

VIN 1FMCU9J90HUD93534

You can look at the tracking, plug in the VIN and see what the car will look like here:
http://www.cotusb.ford.com/

There are no "o" in the VINs, only zeroes.

I was hoping to give this vehicle a break in prior to putting the tune on it.
I don't have that luxury of time based on my scan 2 days ago, so I will put the tune on it within 3 weeks after getting it.

... starting the build on your birthday?
Well that's a happenstance ...

Q: the 2.0L Ecoboost has an auto stop-start feature. With the Livernois Motorsports tune up, will you find a way to disable this feature? Any concerns for the auto start-stop feature?

I really don't know if the Livernois tune defeats the SS or not.
My wife's 2013 750Lix has SS and you have to manually push a button to turn it off.

The Escape also has a button to disable the SS.
I am already used to having to push a button to disable.

In 2014 BMW made the SS disabled on startup and you have to push a button to activate the feature.
I wish Ford had done that but they didn't.

In the Escape, if you put the transmission in Sport mode, that disables the SS.

It's cool that you can track it like that. I'm still hoping you have to buy another car or two after you wear this one out though.

The wait is brutal. My Grand Cherokee was ordered 2/24 and delivered 3/30. My only two ordered vehicles have been Jeeps but when I was looking at full-size pickups the wait could be 3-4 months. But it's worth the wait to get exactly what you want.
