I purchased the Livernois Motorsports tuner and tune today.

I talked with them via phone and they said I could expect gains of 55HP and around 40lbs of torque.
Nice.

Nice! It should cook with that. I found it to feel pretty quick stock and like others had noted in reviews, it has a European feel.

I have been thinking about the dinantronic tune for my X1. It provides similar results.

They make and have been making tunes for the Ford Escapes going on over 4 years. The tune adds 35 to 40HP.
There a couple of guys running their tunes for several years over on the Escape forum.

It's pricey and uses some special electronic tuner you have to buy.

Plus, not only do you get the advantage of a better tune in normal drive mode, the S mode on the transmission also works with the tune.

I am feeling real good, a tune and tires, a tune and tires... it's going to be great.

But in the meantime, tires and a tune should be a lot of improvement.

Livernois is likely who I'll be going with for my 2.7 F150. Have read a few reports of great gains with their tunes & they tune them safe.

Glad to read that the A/S3+ are gtg as well. Looking at those for my wife's Flex. All depends on if we're going to replace it this year or not.

This is cool. I like the idea of a hotrod SUV at a lower price than a BMW or such.

Congrats. Have full confidence in Livernois. They are numero uno in the country on the ecoboost tuning.

Cool.

After the Shelby build, I may never be able to stay stock with anything I own.

If I can get 290HP at the crank, the Escape should perform decently.

It'll be a little rocket.
I want to say they're claiming 60-70hp/tqe gains on the 2.7
But, at $600, it's on the back burner for now.
Would be nice having a daily & a tow tune on the truck.

If you go full out, it's not a huge difference in price. My BMW lease (company car) is actually less than the escape would have been. I was very close to pulling the trigger on the escape though, it's a great car.

Nah, I'd be at the mid trim level to get the 2.0L. Cloth etc. I'd hope the cost of maintenance and such would be better on the Ford.

That 2.0 EcoBoost engine is pretty impressive stock, my XTerra with a 4L V6 is rated at 265hp in comparison.

My old X5 Sport has an oil leak from the timing chain cover.
Cost to fix... $2100
Let's just say my X5 is out in the driveway and will leak oil as long as I own it.
$2100 indeed. I am sick of the high price to repair BMWs.

My X5 was a great car but it's worn out.

My lease is the entirety of the warranty. I spent a fortune maintaining a Porsche once, never again!

I wish we made the 2l head gaskets but we only make 2.7/3.0l v6 for ford.

I need to pass this car on to my oldest daughter.
A lease doesn't fit my current situation.
I still love BMW, just won't own another one.
Now my wife is a different story, an she will get another one at some point.

A 50HP gain from a tune is making the wait for the car delivery excruciating at this point.

I want my AWD bean can and I want it now.

I have a 2.0L. Normal driving it gets decent gas mileage. But on my trips to and from NJ when I'm cruising at a high speed, the mileage drops down to levels I remember from the 60's. If you intend on keeping your foot in it, don't expect much 9in the way of mph.

Agree. It won't get the greatest gas mileage.
It will be one of the negatives but outweighed, hopefully, by other things about the car.

Just curious, to all the trouble you're going to, why not buy an AWD Lincoln MKC?
Wife has a 2015 MKC and loves it...

The 2017 MKC LOOKS better than a Ford Escape, offers a 285-horsepower* 2.3L GTDI turbocharged engine, and has much better standard options.

The 2.3L would be a little peppier.
I went with what looked sportier to me.

Such choice has negatives and that's why a tune.
I have to able to keep up.

I didn't see anything on the Livernois site about tuning for the 2.3L.

^ I'd imagine it's the same/similar 2.3 that's in the Mustang? Would think that their 2.3 Mustang tune could be adapted. Not sure if they've looked into it.

I think Lincoln elongated the front and widened the body a couple of inches to fit that in.

I don't know how much I will take advantage of the increase in HP with the Livernois tune, but it's a good thing to have power when you need it.
And if it turns into a little rocket, I'm OK with that.

I love V8s, I am getting a sewing machine, I mean a 4 banger and I have to do something.

I went to the dealer today to see if they had any paperwork more than the initial agreement to order.
They didn't.
It is Saturday and Ford is closed but the head guy in the box told me he will call me Monday and he should be able to generate something to show me that Ford has officially accepted the order.

Wait wait wait.
