Under most circumstances, I wouldn't give two shits about Commifornia, except my paycheck depends on the company I work for being headquartered there. This means I have to interact with Californians nearly every day. It boggles my mind that some just blink like a deer in headlights when you try to point out to them the path their "elites" have taken them.

I'm toying with the idea of sending this article to some of them. Like so many other things these days when it comes to saving this country, I feel like I'm pissing up a rope.

As usual, Victor Davis Hanson has it right. If you're not familiar with Hanson, he's a Californian. A professor emeritus at Stanford, the Martin and Illie Anderson Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, and the author of many books.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

I have been reading Kurt Schlichter lately....Clancy he is not but he does capture the absurdity that is going on in CA and the north east well.

When the headlines start to match his books you kinda have to shake your head....or start to build the wall along the CA AZ border Wink

FAILED LIBERAL POLICIES

Smacking them in the face...

The sad part is that many of them simply refuse to see it.

I recall for a short while ago, that kalifornistan's total debt was in excess of TWO TRILLION DOLLARS! Apparently they have a large debt that is not commonly even addressed.

Just did a search, and they are now saying that the debt is $1.3 trillion. But, as I read some time ago, they have another debt that is nearly as large that somehow does not get mentioned.

Anyway, even if it is only $1.3T, it positively proves that their socialistic gubbermint does not work.

No matter how bad it gets, Newsom and his successors will never admit their policies and ideology are a failure. They will simply continue to blame everyone else - greedy corporations, right wing saboteurs, etc. Just look at Venezuela - people are eating zoo animals to survive, but there is zero admission by the government that they are in crisis. Anything bad is blamed on the US and capitalists.

So California is bad but they have a long way to go before they hit rock bottom. And when they do, look for them to stay there for a long time rather than admit the problem and seek real solutions.

Sadly, I suspect you are right.

I once suggested that California cede its 4 southern counties back to Mexico, wall it off and start over again with all those northern counties. Realizing that it will never happen, of course!

Perhaps the only solution is for the US government to cut off ALL federal money to California and let them sink into a total financial swamp (of their own making) and then hope that the rational residents finally figure it out. Still does not address their staggering debt, but I truly resent having my tax money going out there to support that financial disaster. Until the residents there start having to pay the price for their abject stupidity nothing will changes.

I realize there are a lot of good people there, but they really need to get involved and remodel/rebuild their state government.

Same here.

If they vote for Calexit... I wouldn't be opposed. It would relieve us of the burden.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

If we build a wall and prevent escapees from entering the US without delousing and reprogramming to accept others' liberties and respect others' rights with a promise to never vote again.

So, here's a reply from someone (NOT in California HQ) that I sent it to. There's a pretty strong spin machine at work.

That's a stupid and irrelevant article. It says look at these 3 great things while ignoring the rest of the crap that's killing the state!
