I realize the site has been on a leftward trajectory for awhile now -- but holy shit. I can't stand even dropping by for a quick peek anymore. It's like a monochrome rehash of MSNBC.

Not a single topside mention of the Biden hard drive. Really?

But TONS of Trump Doom stories.

I'm done.

Jesus, it took you this long?

Check out The Bongino Report. It is the perfect replacement for the worthless, dying Drudge report.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I had pushed Drudge out of the first line awhile back and it only gets occasional visits - but now I can't stand even that.

Liberty Daily is decent too. I went to Drudge out of curiosity earlier in the week and it was full blown TDS.

Yeah... it's a shame. Sellout.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Drudge used to "break" a lot of stories, either by picking up minor blogs or by being used directly to originate scandalous stories based on leaks. He made his name during the Clinton era, if I remember correctly, and did well during the Obama years. Seems like he has lost the knack for those (mostly anti-left) stories. These days he is just providing links to other news outlets.

But if there are a lot of "Trump Doom" stories on Drudge these days (the second half of October) it is because many news and opinion sources, left and right, are rolling that way.

It will be interesting to see how the media changes if President Trump loses the election. The vast left wing media has been sensationally anti-Trump, with a million articles about collusion and Russians etc. If Trump leaves town, no one will need stories about Trump or what's left of the Conservative movement. Will the MSM change its tune to look for leaks, scandals, personality flaws, etc., in the new administration? Or will the MSM meekly support the Party, and abandon the role of tearing things and people down? My guess is they will find schisms in the Left and go after the more "centrist" elements that aren't "progressive" enough. Like the Bolsheviks went after each other in the Purges (killing over a million Party members). Not sure how Drudge fits into that new world, but his site may be revitalized as a venue for leaks.

I go there for a few minutes every couple of months just to see the train wreck. Most every time I note how much further Left Drudge has gone. I deleted him from every favorite list on all of my browsers, phone and tablets. I'm sure it won't matter how much traffic he loses. He made his money long ago. He may have even sold out literally.

Lots of evidence suggests Matt Drudge sold the site and is no longer running it.

Although The Drudge Report sucks now, are we sure it's being run by Matt Drudge and that's he's flipped to the left? I thought he'd sold the site and name a while ago. And while I'm disappointed he didn't stay in the fight, he could be every bit as conservative as most of us here, but not able to resist the payday to retire and live well.
