I was a little boy when that series began. It was my first appointment TV show. Adam West was great and, by all accounts I have ever read, a truly good man.

RIP Adam ...

Cheesh - I had an autograph session with him and Burt at the Seattle Comicon just a few years ago.

What a nice, personable, funny guy ... they all are of the era ...

That was my impression of him, too. He enjoyed being the camp superhero, for sure, but I think he enjoyed the "camp" even more than the "superhero."

I tried to find a TV ad he did in the 1980's (?) in which he was in an insane asylum, but no sign of it on Youtube. I don't even remember the product, but I remember his humorous take on himself.

Rest in Peace Mr. West,
One of my favorite TV shows when I was a kid - loved it. To this day, Adam West is THE BATMAN!

Say it isn't so!

I grew up watching Batman! A prime time show in the 60's!
I've always told my children that Adam West was the true Batman, and he's the only one I've ever enjoyed watching.

I saw him in a western yesterday.
Terrible actor compared to today's but still part of my childhood wonderment.
RIP Batman

That's sad. I start most Saturday mornings (like today) with Batman on H&I. My older daughter is hooked on it now and enjoys it as much as I do.

Rest in peace, Mr. West.

Batman was one of my favorite shows to watch when I was a kid. R.I.P. Adam West, always seemed like a good character guy when I saw him interviewed after the show ended.

My 19-year old saw the news first, he announced it in the house, daughter said "Who was that?"

Son answered "TV's Adam West, Catman! Fairy Godparents!!" Smile

Very sad. I loved watching Batman in the 60's when I was a kid.
There wasn't anything 'dark' about Adam West's 'Dark Knight'.

He did a few low level scifi conventions in our two. Best sight was a bunch of them all at the bar drunk going back and forth. Rare to see Batman arguing with Grandpa from the Monsters.
