Are the chips company property, and do you have to give it back once you separate employment?

That would be a problem if you terminate, would they have to serve you a notice to demand it back or just deduct the cost of the device from your last check?

It isn't mandatory and it is a private employer. I wouldn't agree but it isn't improper.

I could maybe see RFID in the badge an employee wears, because it also allows everyone else to know your name; an imbedded chip doesn't do that.

What's the range of the chip? How many things would a person buy just by waving his hands around without meaning to?

Absolutely not!

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Is flashing a card to open a door or to buy something so hard and time consuming that it necessitates having a foreign object placed into your body? I wouldn't be surprised to see everyone in the military being required to have these soon.

The past few decades have brought people much socially sensitive tech -- tech that fits in both The Best Of and The Worst Of categories:
the cell phone
the 'chip'

In a ideal world tech would work in favor of we-the-people
...unfortunately -we- have politicians between us and the real world
