That's a very nice ride Rolan! Unfortunately I'm horizontally AND vertically challenged (6'5", 320ish), meaning my big butt would likely not fit in the thing. But, I've watched them as they've come out and thought that they'd be great vehicles for the guy who occasionally hauls, but also gets off the beaten path some.

Wonder if they'll have some sort of hard, locking cover for the bed?

Very nice.
We looked at a JLU Sport S last year & I quite liked it. Decided to hold off a while & my wife thought it seemed a downgrade from her Flex (comfort wise).

My neighbor works for a local DCJR dealer, so if we decide to pursue it again, I could probably get a decent deal. He had a lightly-modded Gladiator Sport for a demo for a few weeks, wheels/tires, spot cubes & looked like a mild lift (but could've been from the tires).

For me, a Wrangler would probably get the nod over the Gladiator.

It may be too late, but instead of "nerf bars", get real rock sliders. If you do any off-roading (and in a Rubicon, why wouldn't you?), you'll appreciate them.

That is a nice ride, even bone stock like that. But of course, it will look a lot better after those modifications you have listed. Please add new photos as you complete each modification.

In mine ('14), both the auto trans and the transfer case shifters are on the floor on top of the hump.

Very nice! The gladiator is the first mid-size truck that I've like in a long time. Big enough for comfort, but small enough to be practical, off-raod capability, decent towing capacity, and they actually offer a legit base model with 6-speed manual, rubber floors, and manual windows/locks. I want that one in a bad way.

I hope they sell a ton, because I'll be in for one on the used market in about 10 years!

When you lock the truck it locks the tail-gate.
There are many bed covers you can get that lock.

My first two jeeps ( I am currently Jeep-less) we’re perched as basic 4WD vehicles for harsh northeast winters and acquitted themselves well. Back when they were bought a basic wrangler was a low 20’s price. These days they have at least for me priced themselves out of the market.

Welcome to the club!

I ordered my Sting Grey Rubicon last July when the color first became available and picked it up in September.
I have had 4x4 trucks all my life but this truck is way more capable than any of the previous ones I’ve had.

A couple of comments to the previous comments:

The Rubicon does come with factory rock rails which are very good. No need to upgrade them.

Jeep has a factory program called “Jeep Wave” where you go on their website and register your truck and in return get 4 free oil changes and tire rotations during the first 24 months.
I just had my first one done last week.

Enjoy!

I'm already registered in Jeep Wave. Great resource.

Maybe a little off topic but I have a 2016 Wrangler. I don't drive it much (still less than 12000 miles) but I noticed that I usually get a wave back from jeeps with soft tops or lots of obvious mods. That's kind of understandable. I have never ever, not even once, gotten a wave from a Wrangler with body colored fenders.
