Well, I’m relieved.

A Federal judge ruled they cannot be denied entry and that the government must grant them appearances to consider their asylum applications. Thousands were bused into El Paso, Phoenix and San Diego and released into the country.

A wall won't prevent this type of invasion.

You're right, of course. We need changes in the law that make it legal to just immediately take illegal crossers back across the line into Mexico--at gunpoint, if necessary.

Most countries do very well by simply incarcerating the illegals until a decision has been made. Look at Australia, they keep them penned up on an island. This has a cooling effect on follow on illegals. Catch and release is just a joke.

The law needs to change that gives illegal entrants financial benefits by virtue of making it onto US soil. If the law allows them an asylum period because they are in legitimate danger, that is one thing. We all know this is the lie the left allows them to use. But to access asylum, they MUST be processed through a port of entry. So they can be registered, printed, and photographed.

Deny them financial aid. Period. They are NOT citizens. We have actual citizens that are treated more poorly than these foriegn invaders. They want to get asylum? Fine. Give them asylum. But mandate a time frame to appear before a judge that doesn’t last a year or more. In the meantime, their food, lodging, health care, education, etc. comes out of their pockets. And if they miss their hearing, instant contempt of court. Instant deportation order. All the while this is going on, continue to continue securing the border. Barriers, personnel, technology, infrastructure improves until you can’t sneak across the border without a high probability of capture and instant deportation.

If they make it through the process and are eligible to become citizens, they swear alleigance to the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. First and foremost. Learn the language. Follow the laws. Can’t do it? Don’t come here.

Honduran Border Police arrest organizer of new migrant caravan for warrant on rape charge

OAN Newsroom

The new migrant caravan from Honduras is off to a bad start after one of its leaders was arrested for having a rape warrant dating back to 2015.

Juan Molina, who was identified as one of the caravan’s main organizers, was reportedly caught at a national police checkpoint and taken into custody on Monday.

Record-breaking group of 376 Central American migrants illegally burrow under border fence and immediately request asylum from Border Patrol

Massive group crossed the border illegally on Monday near Yuma, Arizona
CBP says the Central American migrants 'inundated agents' to request asylum
Most of the group was family units who will thus have to be released in the U.S.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/ne...r-fence-Arizona.html

A group of migrants said to be the largest ever has illegally tunneled under the southern U.S. border fence and surrendered to Border Patrol to request asylum.

The group of 376 Central Americans 'inundated agents' after crossing the border through a series of hasty tunnels near Yuma, Arizona on Monday, Customs and Border Protection said.

The agency said 200 of the group were minors, and that nearly all the rest said they were their parents, meaning that they will likely be released into the U.S. as their asylum claims are processed.

It is believed to be the largest single group to cross the border illegally to request asylum.

Officials said that most of the group entered the U.S. through seven small openings burrowed under the border barrier.

The crossings took place at a remote stretch of border where old fencing is about 12 feet high and the ground is sandy. Stretched thin, CBP has only three agents patrolling the 26-mile section of border.

President Donald Trump's administration had tried to forbid migrants from requesting asylum after crossing the border illegally, but that move was struck down by a federal judge in November.

'The only thing that solves that problem is a change in the law,' CBP Yuma Border Sector Chief Anthony Porvaznik told ABC News.

'The only reason they're trying to say that they're family units is that they know if they're a family unit, they're going to be released within 20 days,' Porvaznik said.

Porvaznik said that he had worked for CBP for 30 years and had never been part of an arrest of a group as large as the one on Monday.

By Thursday, hundreds of the asylum seekers were being held in cinderblock cells with thick glass windows as CBP agents worked to process them and provide humanitarian needs, ABC reported.

The asylum seekers were separated into cells: fathers with sons, fathers with daughters, unaccompanied minors and mothers with children.

One man in the group told the network that he left Guatemala eight days ago and made most of the trip by bus along with his 12-year-old daughter, paying a coyote $5,000 to get them to the border.

He planned to travel to San Diego after leaving the processing center.

The father said he left a wife and two younger daughters back in Guatemala.

Obviously, we need better walls. And ground sensors to detect tunneling.

The first step is changing the legislation that grants amnesty to anyone that enters the country illegally. When someone’s first act upon reaching America is to violate the law, they do not belong here. We should be able to boot their asses right back into Mexico.

Not only the first step. The best step. More effective, and far less expensive than walls. Could’ve been done while the Rs had the House.

I think that’s applicable to border walls. I’d guess that there are hundreds of tunnels under current US border walls.

476 illegals caught on video in last ten days climbing over or going under wall.

Nope there's no crisis at the border, not a shred of evidence to point to any thing like that. Roll Eyes

That's just the large groups that were caught on video in less than ten days. If we extrapolate over a year, that's just a tad over 19,000 per year. What about smaller groups of fifty or less, 20 or less, our a handful? What about ones not caught on video? I know I could Google it, but I'm afraid to know the yearly estimated totals of them.

I say this in just, but I'm willing to accept Nacncy and Chuck's proposal for drones insrad of walls to protect the border. Just arm them with Hellfires.

Seriously, we need to protect our border. We need a wall/barrier/fence for the areas that would most benefit from it. We need to double our CBP ranks, and quadruple our asylum judges, and build adequate housing for individual and family units so that we can keep track of and in a humanitarian way before sending them home. Even better would be if we stop accepting asylum claims from those entering illegally. Just immediately return them to Mexico to fill out appropriate forms and get in line with the people doing the right way. Legal immigrants are suffering because of the actions of border jumpers and false asylum seekers.

I dare you to read this article on Washington Post and not get angry. WaPo is not a normal conservative paper. I'm surprised they'd write about how bad it really is.

There are no illegals on Manus Island or Nauru.
Manus Island is owned by PNG, and is a former RAN (HMAS Tarangau) and PNG Navy Base (Lombrum).

Boat people - our illegals - float or raft in, mostly from SE Asia. We have a huge coastline that cannot be monitored 24/7. When Border Force do intercept, often it's more a humanitarium crises that is warranted. Some get to stay, many are returned.

There are something like 475 families of asylum seekers and refugees, waiting for their turn to be processed. Manus Island was formally closed Oct 31 2017, and those remaining relocated nearby to Lorengau.

Up to 1200 refugees, in a deal with Aus/US in Nov 2016, will be accepted for resettlement in the US, something that Our President said he hated to do. 300 have been resettled so far.

The Aussie MSM would have you believe otherwise, with sound bite snippets and click bait. At the time of the elections and immediately afterward, the MSM here took up a mantle for these refugees and asylum seekers.

Don't hear much about their plight, issues or complaints nowadays. Just not political anymore.

Talking about illegals:
Q: Was there a previous time in the US, where illegals and crossings garnered so much MSM attention?

WATCH: OAN Investigates Border Crisis

OAN Newsroom
UPDATED 12:53 PM PT — Wednesday, January 30, 2019

The Department of Homeland Security is currently tracking three separate migrant caravans making the dangerous trek to the U.S. southern border. One of those caravans is reportedly made up of more than 12,000 Central American migrants. This comes as Customs and Border Protection has been overwhelmed with overcrowded detention centers as thousands of illegal immigrants have crossed the border in search of asylum.

One America’s Neil W. McCabe went to the Texas-Mexico border to evaluate the crisis.

Trump Announces More Troops to the Border

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...-the-border-n2540562

President Trump announced Thursday morning additional U.S. troops will be sent to the southern border.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

More troops being sent to the Southern Border to stop the attempted Invasion of Illegals, through large Caravans, into our Country. We have stopped the previous Caravans, and we will stop these also. With a Wall it would be soooo much easier and less expensive. Being Built!

9:52 AM - Jan 31, 2019

The announcement comes as three caravans made up of tens-of-thousands are on their way north from Central America. Just one of them is 12,000 people.

Meanwhile, in Washington D.C. a bipartisan commission made up of 17 lawmakers met for the first time yesterday in an effort to negotiate some kind of border security deal before February 15. Without a wall to stop incoming caravans, President Trump argues Republicans are wasting their time.

We have stopped the previous Caravans,

Factually incorrect. We didn't even come close to stopping them. We discouraged a few that decided to go home or accept asylum in Mexico. Many, many have been released at bus stations while they await a trial that they will never show up to. Anotger large portion just snuck across.

We need to stop people entering the country illegally from being able to claim asylum. They know they can game the system, so most crossing the boarder don't even try and run or hide. They immediately turn themselves over to spend a few days in jail and get set free and disappear. This needs to stop TODAY.

Even conservative meadia glosses over the facts. They will tout that hundreds of people were caught by CBP, but not tell you where they are thirty days later.

Who is organizing these caravans? It's not like all theses people are getting together on there own and walking to the us, there has to be someone who is pushing for them to come here.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are politicians who are, behind the scenes, instructing illegals on how to game the system and using middle men to get the word out for the caravans, does anyone have any actual information about this?
