The Caravan of Crap

Where do they shit?

The Hondurans in the caravan, the 7,000 people walking north to America, where do they go to the bathroom?

And eat and sleep and store their clothes?

And how is it that after a week on the road they are clean and their hair and clothes are well kept?

How is any of this possible?

And why do these people, supposedly fleeing intolerable conditions in their homeland, carry little flags from their homeland and break into its national anthem when the TV cameras show up?

And speaking of which, for oppressed people, they all seem to be pretty well fed, well groomed and well dressed. Their hair is neat and newly cut, their clothes are clean and in good repair, and they are built like people who have had ample nutrition all their lives, being well developed and, many of them, overweight.

And none of them look dirty or unkempt, like they had been sleeping on the ground for the last week.

There’s just nothing in any of this that makes sense.

Supposedly, these several thousand people spontaneously decided to leave Honduras, walking north in a group, hoping to trek the length of gang-plagued Mexico and present themselves as refugees and prospective Democrats at the American border.

Which, again, makes no sense whatsoever.

And leaves a lot of big questions unanswered, and ignored by the press. Such as, who organized this? Who is paying for it? How have they covered 500 miles in a week?

Seriously. Any number of American “reporters” have walked beside a sympathetic walker and talked about how this particular woman and her children had trekked half a thousand miles over the last week or so.

That’s 71 miles a day.

The best soldiers through history have been able to march 25 miles a day.

How have 7,000 people been fed and watered? And how have they gone to the bathroom? If the average person across the world produces about a pound of solid waste a day, that means that these folks are somehow disposing of more than three tons of feces each day.

That’s a heck of a lot of crap, even for a Central American roadway.

Provisioning such an army of people – the equivalent of 10 combat battalions in most of the world’s militaries – is a large task. Transporting and distributing the food and water necessary to keep those people moving is a massive chore which the press says nothing about.

The entire enterprise, as a spontaneous ad hoc event, is implausible.

As an orchestrated international attempt to influence an American election, it starts to make sense.

And ought to alarm us.

Unless it’s only Russians we don’t want screwing with our democracy.

Unfortunately, none of this has made the evening news. It’s almost as if the press, in whatever scheme is afoot, gladly accepts its role as propagandists to the American people.

Every story is sympathetic, as if an attempt to enlist viewers and readers in this caravan and the politics it symbolizes.

And so the story is not about an orchestrated attempt to manipulate electoral opinion and violate the borders and laws of the United States, it is about compassion and Trump and xenophobia and racism. It is the October surprise, it is the Blue Wave.

And it is all nonsense.

Because all of these people, if legitimate, have the ability to apply for American asylum in their own country – as do the residents of most nations of the world. We have consulates and embassies for a reason, and this is one of those reasons.

We also have laws and an oath of office for a reason.

Laws, so that “we the people” through our elected representatives clearly and systematically govern our society. Law is the means by which the people express and exercise their sovereignty. Disobedience to law is disobedience to the will of the people, it is the subverting of their sovereignty and franchise.

Breaking the law is denying you the vote. Your vote elects representatives – lets you pick the country’s direction – and the representatives write the law. If that law is ignored, your representation becomes meaningless.

You get screwed.

And the oath of office?

Members of Congress – even Democrats – swear an oath to “bear true faith and allegiance” to the Constitution, which establishes our system of laws and specifically charges the Congress with making the rules of naturalization and immigration.

Who comes across the border and under what conditions they can stay is a constitutional responsibility of the Congress. That is to be determined by a congressional vote, not by a Honduran mob.

Failure to insist on that – even for Democrats – is a violation of your congressman’s oath of office.

So there is not a Democrat or Republican response to this travelling army of invaders – there is only an American response.

And that is: Turn around and go home.

Because the law of the United States does not allow a mass entry like this. The law does not declare the borders open.

If Democrats and progressives don’t like that, they can try to change the law. If America’s progressives want open borders and believe all the world’s people have a right to live in the United States – as they say they do – then they should adjust immigration law accordingly.

But until then, if they are to keep their oaths of office, they must stand for the law and the border.

And they must tell their surrogates to turn around and go home.

Because this caravan is nothing more than a bunch of political shit.

This, in spades. How about an emergency executive order to this effect? How about open debate on the floor so the democrats have to self identify as supporting a mass invasion. This “giving invaders rights because they’ve set foot on our soil” shit has got to end. Now.

Arfmel, the answers to the questions you posted are simple: there is a large organization behind all this--the "marchers" are just the actors in a planned event that has well-funded supporters in the background. They are sleeping in tents (all of them alike, according to a photo I saw), they are being fed, toilets are moving along with them (or are pre-positioned along the way), and they used busses when the cameras are not rolling. The myth that this is a spontaneous march of dissidents is just that--a myth.

Congress could change the law that grants protected status when any part touches US soil and should do so immediately; that law is what keeps enforcement troops from immediately just pushing them back across the line. President Trump would not hesitate signing such a change, and it would best happen before the mob gets here.

Unfortunately, to get around the current law that barrier would have to be erected on Mexican soil, south of the border (down Mexico way...).

Former Federal Prosecutor: Trump Has Authority to ‘Stop All Immigration’

Former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell said President Donald Trump has lawful authority to “stop all immigration,” offering her remarks in an interview Tuesday with Breitbart News Senior Editors-at-Large Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight.

Powell explained, “It’s under 8 United States Code Section 1182 F. It derives from the very clear language of the statute that says he can make a finding that it is in the national interest — it doesn’t even say national security; it just says in the national interest — to halt all immigration for any aliens, and that means any and all.”

8 U.S. Code § 1182, entitled “Inadmissible aliens,” reads:

Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate. Whenever the Attorney General finds that a commercial airline has failed to comply with regulations of the Attorney General relating to requirements of airlines for the detection of fraudulent documents used by passengers traveling to the United States (including the training of personnel in such detection), the Attorney General may suspend the entry of some or all aliens transported to the United States by such airline

Powell noted how the Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, recognized the president’s broad discretion granted to him via the aforementioned statute to suspend entry of aliens to the U.S.

“That particular wording in the statute was also recently discussed and affirmed in the Trump vs. Hawaii — quote travel ban — case,” remarked Powell. “This would be a plain application of the text of the statute as already affirmed by the Supreme Court, which recognizes the absolutely broad power that the president has to do this. That would cut out any claims of asylum or anything else; it would just stop all immigration except for people who are already on an approved list, who have gone through the lawful process already, and are pending approval, but it would stop any and all new immigration whatsoever”:

Mansour asked, “Would this involve shutting down the border to do this?”

Powell replied, “Essentially, yes. You wouldn’t necessarily have to seal it off physically, but that means that anybody that came in after the date of that executive order would be here illegally.”

Mansour asked, “Does this require any sort of congressional approval to do this?”

Powell answered, “No, not at all. It’s solely within the authority of the president. Congress has already given him that authority. … The Supreme Court decided it and approved it and even recognized how very broad the language was and how much deference was to be accorded to the president because of the things he has to consider as opposed to just particular instances of immigration.”

Powell went on, “In light of the Supreme Court’s decision that cites this particular statue and the language throughout the decision, even in the concurrence of Justice Thomas, [a federal court’s injunction] should not be successful at all. Another point I’ve made in the past and one that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has picked up on is that this notion of any sort of nationwide or universal injunction is a crock. No district judge has the authority to issue a national injunction, so at most, it would be in whatever particular small district that judge presided over and, frankly, given the wording of the statute, I’m not even sure the president would have to honor it.”

Powell wrote of the approaching migrant caravan in an opinion editorial published Monday:

Now, mobs of thousands are on the march to our borders—creating an immediate existential threat to all that we have and that we are. Violent gate-crashers demanding access to our country are invaders — not immigrants. The invasion must stop — and now. … Strangers breaking into American is no different than breaking into your home and demanding that you house, feed, clothe and educate them while providing for their medical needs. Americans are overloaded and fed up. … In the interests of the United States, the President can hit the pause button and stop all immigration now. He can include exceptions — or not. He can seal the border legally and physically for the protection of the citizens and lawful residents of the United States, and this President has the courage to do so.

Powell described the motivations of caravaning migrants as economic: “They just want to live in a better house.”

Powell noted the federal government’s duty to prioritize the welfare of American citizens over other considerations: “We have to find a way to encourage every other country to take responsibility for the health, welfare, and safety of its own citizens. We have the United States of America because our ancestors fought for it and bled for it around the world. We have sacrificed more lives around the world for the sake of freedom than any other country I can imagine, aside from the fact we are the most generous [country] on earth. Americans want other people to be happy and successful and safe, but we cannot take on the world’s problems if we allow our resources and energy … to be depleted. We have to maintain a position of strength to be the beacon of freedom in the world.”

Powell went on to say, “Whenever the president wants to [he can re-open immigration]. He has total flexibility in deciding how long it needs to happen. I think it was done for extended periods of time after World War II. We had a maximum number that we could assimilate. Right now, we have at least 22 million illegal aliens in the country per the Yale-MIT study, which is certainly no bastion of conservatism. There have been 39 million social security numbers stolen, which tells me that the actual number of illegals in the country probably is a lot closer to 39 million. I don’t know how many thousands of homeless veterans we have who need health care and homes. We have our own children living on the streets being humanly trafficked, and we have the fentanyl crisis and opioid crisis, and … there’s a new mysterious disease which has spread across 22 states already. It’s polio-like. It’s called acute flaccid myelitis, and it causes paralysis in children and young adults.”

“Until we get our own house in order, we cannot help any other people,” assessed Powell.

Powell recommended a pause on immigration and refugee admissions to facilitate assimilation of existing groups of immigrants and refugees.

“I think it’s something that needs to be done at this stage in the life of our country because of all the other issues,” opined Powell. “We have taken in more refugees and more aliens than any other country in the last several years, and they’re not assimilating. They’re still speaking their own language in their own homes. They haven’t learned American values and traditions. There’s a lot that needs to be done to absorb the ones we have legally admitted, and we need to encourage the return of those who are not legally here, along with depositing their false IDs at the border when they go home, and just take better care of our own citizens until we get our house in order.”

HUIXTLA, Mexico (AP) — Little by little, sickness, fear and police harassment are whittling down the migrant caravan making its way to the U.S. border, with many of the 4,000 to 5,000 migrants camped overnight under plastic sheeting in a town in southern Mexico complaining of exhaustion.

The group, many with children and even pushing toddlers in strollers, planned to depart Mapastepec at dawn Thursday with more than 1,000 miles still to go before they reach the U.S. border.

But in recent days a few hundred have accepted government offers to bus them back to their home countries.

The Mexican federal government’s attitude has also played a role in wearing down the caravan.

All the food, old clothes, water and medicine given to the migrants have come from private citizens, church groups or sympathetic local officials.

The federal government hasn’t given the migrants on the road a single meal, a bathroom or a bottle of water. It has reserved those basic considerations only for migrants who turn themselves in at immigration offices to apply for visas or be deported. Officials say nearly 1,700 migrants have already dropped out and applied for asylum in Mexico.

Sometimes federal police have interfered with the caravan.

In at least one instance, The Associated Press saw federal police officers force a half-dozen passenger vans to pull over and make the drivers kick migrants off, while leaving Mexican passengers aboard. In a climate where heat makes walking nearly impossible at midday, such tactics may eventually take a toll on migrants’ health.

In Mapastepec, where the main group stayed Wednesday night, it appeared the size of the caravan had diminished slightly. The United Nations estimated earlier in the week that about 7,000 people were in the group. The Mexican government gave its own figure Wednesday of “approximately 3,630.”

Another, smaller caravan earlier this year dwindled greatly as it passed through Mexico, with only about 200 making it to the California border. Those who do make it into the U.S. face a hard time being allowed to stay. U.S. authorities do not consider poverty, which many cite as a reason for migrating, in processing asylum applications.

The leftards will be in full “blame Trump” mode for making everyone be mean to these women and children, and possibly old people.

Hopefully, the Mexicans can whittle the caravan down to a manageable number so they can be stopped cold.

So? Mexico has done NOTHING to stop this!

And that article posted earlier has it absolutely right. Who is paying for all the "support" provided on an hourly or minute by minute basis? It takes a shit load of money for the logistics of such an event! Tents, sanitation facilities, food and water, medical support, etc etc ad nauseum.

I could speculate on some of the players.

Are foreign entities (gubbermints) assisting?

Did they plan it?

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Mo Brooks: ‘Now’ Is Time to Build Wall, Caravan ‘Hell-Bent on Assaulting Our National Sovereignty’

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) is urging Congress to build President Trump’s proposed border wall, saying that a 7,000-strong migrant caravan is “hell-bent” on “assaulting our national sovereignty.”

Brooks has cosponsored House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act of 2018 — which fully funds a border wall on the U.S.-Mexico border — and Rep. Bradley Byrne’s (R-AL) 50 Votes for the Wall Act, which Brooks says “neuters open borders Democrat Senator obstructionism by allowing a majority vote to pass legislation.”

The populist-nationalist lawmaker says a border wall along the southern border is “now more than ever” necessary as a migrant caravan of Central American job-seekers and previously deported illegal aliens head to the U.S. through Mexico.

Brooks said in a statement:

Let me be very candid, illegal aliens are a plague on America. Illegal aliens take American jobs and suppress American wages. [Emphasis added]

Too often, illegal aliens live off welfare and taxes paid by American families and commit crimes that hurt or kill Americans. Far too often, illegal aliens vote in American elections, each time canceling the lawful vote of an American citizen. Each illegal alien vote is a direct threat to our Republic’s democratic process. [Emphasis added]

With a caravan of thousands brazenly hell-bent on illegally crossing our border and assaulting our national sovereignty, now more than ever is the time to secure our border. Congress must act. Failing that, President Trump must fulfill his commander-in-chief duties and employ America’s military to protect American lives, America’s sovereignty, and America’s southern border.

I confess I find myself confused. There's already a healthy contingent of National Guard in the area and Trump has said he's sending more troops. Is there any reason to assume that the tents there are not going to be used to accommodate the soldiers Trump is sending, along with communications, a command center and so forth?
