Comey is being investigated by the IG over classified information.

The wheels are turning slowly, but they are turning. What a joy it will be to see this pompous, self-righteous, utterly corrupt weasel (apologies to weasels) frog (apologies to frogs) marched off in a jump suit.

BTW, the Trump assclown thread pinned to the top in this section just rolled 4 million hits. Hard to believe that was almost three years ago.

My bet is they will eek all the fake news they can out of this and drop it before discovery which works both ways correct? This suit is more likely to result in proving DNC/Hillary/Russia collusion via the "dossier" than the other way around.

Fired FBI official Andrew McCabe’s fate rests in the hands of a Trump-appointed prosecutor, now that the Justice Department’s inspector general has sent a criminal referral over an investigative finding that he lied to James Comey and bureau investigators about a media disclosure.

That referral, sent by Inspector General Michael Horowitz, is now being considered by the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, Jessie Liu. President Trump appointed Liu in July 2017.

“We were advised of the referral within the past few weeks,” McCabe’s counsel, Michael Bromwich, a former Justice Department inspector general, said in a statement. “Although we believe the referral is unjustified, the standard for an IG referral is very low. We have already met with staff members from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.”

Bromwich added, “We are confident that, unless there is inappropriate pressure from high levels of the administration, the U.S. Attorney’s Office will conclude that it should decline to prosecute.”

McCabe, the former FBI deputy director, is not alone in facing IG problems. It emerged Friday that even Comey is the subject of an IG review over his handling of classified information in memos he penned. But McCabe faces greater risk now that the findings of his case have been referred to the U.S. attorney.

Liu is a Republican and has a long history of political donations to GOP candidates, according to Open Secrets political donation records, but it does not appear that she donated to Trump.

Liu was criticized during her Senate confirmation hearing last year when it was revealed that she met with Trump at least once while being considered for the post — an unprecedented step in the process for potential U.S. attorney nominees.

But whether Liu will opt to prosecute McCabe is unclear. Referrals do not guarantee that charges will be brought, nor do they require prosecutors to act in any way.

Officials from the Justice Department, the inspector general’s office and the U.S. attorney’s office all declined to comment on the referral.

If, and I mean IF, charges are not brought against McCabe, Trump needs to fire both Mueller and Rosenstein the very next day. No need to keep the farce going any longer after that. Now I happen to think he will get charged, regardless of who appointed the prosecutor. His case is pretty clear cut. He lied, under oath. Multiple times. Ask thousands of other Americans how that turned out for them. If his years of service are to afford him any leniency it should be at the sentencing, not at the decision of whether or not to prosecute.

It's getting better by the moment. Former Forbes "reporter" claims President Trump lied to him 34 years ago in order to get on the Forbes 400 list. Bring on the Impeachment!!!

I am hearing rumors that Trump also jaywalked on Lexington Avenue in broad daylight sometime in the late 80s.
----------------------

http://thehill.com/homenews/ad...-spot-on-fortune-400

--------------------

A former reporter for Forbes magazine claims that President Trump lied to him decades ago about his net worth to snatch a coveted spot on the Forbes 400 Richest list.

Jonathan Greenblatt wrote in an op-ed for The Washington Post that Trump was "telling a lie so cosmic that people believed that some kernel of it had to be real."

"The tactic landed him a place on the Forbes list he hadn’t earned — and led to future accolades, press coverage and deals. It eventually paved a path toward the presidency," he added.

Greenblatt alleges that in 1984 Trump called him pretending to be "John Barron," which the Post has reported is a pseudonym that Trump has long used with reporters and others.

"No one could imagine the unimaginable, no one could imagine that someone would do something like this, call as their own PR person," Greenblatt told CNN on Friday. He also wrote that he believes Trump's intent to deceive released him from a "good-faith pledge" to keep the conversations off-the-record.

Greenblatt alleges that Trump wildly overstated his wealth to him during conversations about the Forbes 400 list, which Greenblatt says the president has been obsessed with since its 1981 creation.

Trump's net worth on the Forbes 400 list in 1984 was recorded at $400 million, with his father Fred Trump listed at $200 million. Greenblatt said he now believes those numbers were inaccurate, and said that Trump and his fixers followed up every subsequent year of the list to persuade the magazine with "misinformation" that Trump was richer than they thought.

Greenblatt said the Trump Organization and the White House did not respond to requests for comment on his article.

And North Korea just folded.

CNN, FOX, etc are reporting that Lil’ Kim just made an announcemnt that he is suspending all nuclear and missile tests.

Yep. That’s the reason. Nothing to do with Pompeo’s Visit, Syrian air strikes, Trumps threats to use military force and so forth.

But, but... you don't understand. Trump refused to help an old lady across the street when he was a Boy Scout.

He'll be booted from office by the end of the week.

Could Trump be one of the John Does #1-10? Or, could he be added as one?

In theory, maybe, but it is consider poor form to name as Does those whose identity you know. To add a defendant, you have to make a motion which might not be granted. To say you didn’t know your defendant was really Donald Trump is prima facie absurd. You might be tempted to avoid naming the President to avoid the stay of trial and some discovery or something afforded to the President in civil suits not in his official capacity, but that might be considered bad faith as well.

It’s hard to take this case seriously as good faith litigation, even without reading the complaint.
