This dossier story has become mind boggling complicated with tens of players and hundreds of pages of related documentation publicly available. Most people aren’t going to go thru all that.

Two of the most revealing documents are the transcripts of Glenn Simpson (Fusion GPS) in testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee (Grassley) and the House Intel Comm (Nunes). (477 pages total)

Wanted to share just a few pieces of what Simpson said.

Glenn Simpson talking about Christopher Steele and the dossier:

Chris does not pay sources for information

When you’re running a source network, essentially what you are doing is paying subcontractors to circulate and gather information in conversations.

When you have subcontractors in the field doing interviews, meeting people in bars, talking shop, they don’t say, “I’ve been hired to go out and ask questions and see what people say”, but that’s essentially what happens

So Steele does pay for the information.

He pays subcontractors to talk to sources.
The sources aren’t paid, supposedly.

Numerous things in the dossier have been verified. Things like, the Russian government has been investigating Hillary Clinton and has a lot of information about her … and the Trump people are interested in getting that information

a truly amazing "verification" that any of us could have written

Q: So everything in the dossier is true, or could be true ?

I didn’t say that. What I said was it was credible at the time it came in.

...

I to this day can’t tell you whether a lot of those things – I just don’t have a strong view as to whether they are true or false, per se.

British Intelligence methodology is a kind of strict recitation of what sources are saying.

They don’t do a lot of the – this is what this guy said, but we don’t think it’s true or we believe this or we believe that he might have gotten the data wrong. They just – it’s a kind of a here’s what they said type of report

So, you know, a trained intelligence officer can spot disinformation that you or I might not recognize, certainly that was Chris’s skill ..

So Steele, who hasn’t been to Russia in over 20 years, pays his subcontractors in Russia to get raw data from sources in casual conversation. And Steele can magically spot disinformation from sources who he has never seen. With subcontractors who better have more and more good stuff to keep getting paid.

The Washington Free Beacon funded Fusion GPS for 8 months to get dirt on Donald Trump during the Republican primary. None of this wild stuff was discovered.

Clinton then funds Fusion GPS for op research, Steele is hired, and Steele comes up with a block buster report in about 3 weeks. Guess our CIA is asleep or something.

I’m reading the Simpson interview transcript now.

It is gossip to the extent it is genuine. Low grade gossip.

If not actually genuine, it is fictional dialogue that could be better written by the swarthy bald headed men in a dumpy little building in Santa Monica who write prime time drama shows, etc.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

For those of you who still don't understand that political polls are utterly worthless except to be used as tools by propagandists and deceivers, this is what's known as a "clue":

Former Obama campaign manager says 'all public pollsters should be shot'

Forget the fact that this guy is saying this because the polls now say something that he does not like. He's right.

Here is yet another ... jaw dropping... bomb shell... article, based on a Judge Jeanine interview. Maybe it is just more hype (these people are in the news business), but if Bill Priestap is cooperating, that would be huge. Comey tried to make Priestap his fall guy. Priestap-- apparently-- has decided not to take one for Comey. As head of FBI counterintelligence, his testimony, if it comes to that, would be devastating.

The White House will announce plans to stop funding the International Space Station after 2024 when it unveils its proposed budget Monday, Fox News has confirmed.

A senior NASA official told Fox News that the agency is working on a transition plan that would allow the station, known as the ISS, to be operated by a commercial concern.

The administration's plan for the ISS was first reported by The Washington Post.

The Post reported that the White House will request $150 million from Congress for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1 in order to "to enable the development and maturation of commercial entities and capabilities which will ensure that commercial successors to the ISS —potentially including elements of the ISS — are operational when they are needed."

The plan does not elaborate on which companies might be interested in the station or how the station might be used in the future.

All or part of the ISS has been in low Earth orbit since 1998 and the station has been continuously inhabited since 2000. There are six astronauts currently aboard the ISS — two Russians, three Americans and one from Japan.

The ISS, which functions as a kind of floating laboratory, is operated currently by Boeing on behalf of NASA at a cost of between $3 billion and $4 billion.

Donald Trump Jr.’s wife, Vanessa Trump, was hospitalized Monday after receiving a letter containing white powder that was later deemed to be non-hazardous, New York City police told Fox News.

President Trump‘s daughter-in-law opened the letter addressed to Donald Trump Jr. just after 10 a.m. at the couple's Manhattan apartment. It's unclear what the "white powder" was, but authorities tested the substance and found it to be "non-hazardous."

Vanessa Trump was taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said. Two other people who were also exposed to the powder were taken to the hospital.

A hazmat crew was called to the scene and began decontamination procedures shortly after the incident.

Trump Jr. is the eldest son of the president. He married Vanessa in 2005. The couple has five children, though it was not clear if any were home at the time of the incident.

Police and Secret Service are investigating the incident.

The U.S. Secret Service said in a statement: "The Secret Service and our law enforcement partners in New York City are investigating a suspicious package addressed to one of our protectees received today in New York, New York. This is an active investigation and we cannot comment any further."

Trump Jr. ditched his Secret Service detail for a period of time in September, reportedly because he wanted more privacy. But his detail was reactivated about a week later.

Cliff,
thanks for posting that audio clip.

I sure hope DiGenova has good insight. That would be great. Especially the part about some FBI agents coming forth to reveal the truth.

Devin Nunes said as soon as he announced his committee was looking at State Dept that some State Dept people came forward.

Let's all hope the DoJ IG report rocks things.

Like many citizens, I've wondered and tried so hard to understand why Trump has such a remarkable following. (It's obvious why he probably should not!) Then a friend sent me this raccoon story. It makes no difference about your political leanings, this is just a good explanation of WHY... (or it's as good as any I can come up with).
If you really want to know how the majority of people feel? And this applies to both democrats and republicans, read below, it says it all.
You've been on vacation for two weeks, you come home, and your basement is infested with raccoons. Hundreds of rabid, messy, mean raccoons have overtaken your basement. You want them gone immediately. You call the city, 4 different exterminators, but nobody can handle the job. But there is this one guy and he guarantees you to get rid of them, so you hire him. You don't care if the guy smells, you don't care if the guy swears, you don't care if he's an alcoholic, you don't care how many times he's been married, you don't care if he voted for Obama, you don't care if he has a plumber's crack, you simply want those raccoons gone! You want your problem fixed! He's the guy. He's the best. Period !
Here's why we want Trump, yes he's a bit of an ass, yes he's an egomaniac, but we don't care. The country is a mess because politicians suck, the Republicans and Democrats can be two-faced & gutless, and illegals are everywhere. We want it all fixed! We don't care that Trump is crude, we don't care that he insults people, we don't care that he once was friendly with Hillary, we don't care that he has changed positions, we don't care that he's been married 3 times, we don't care that he fights with Megyn Kelly and Rosie O'Donnell, we don't care that he doesn't know the name of some Muslin terrorist.
This country is weak, bankrupt, our enemies are making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegals, we are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo, and Hasid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don't even recognize the country we were born and raised in; "AND WE JUST WANT IT FIXED" and Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want.
We're sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic Party, Republican Party, and sick of illegals. We just want this thing fixed. Trump may not be a saint, but he doesn't have lobbyist money holding him, he doesn't have political correctness restraining him, all you know is that he has been very successful, a good negotiator, he has built a lot of things, and he's also not a politician, he's not a cowardly politician. And he says he'll fix it.
And, we believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or looked at and called a liar. Also, we don't care if the guy has bad hair. We just want those raccoons gone, out of our house, NOW.
This is why thousands of people who haven't voted in 25 years are getting involved.

Socialism will never work; if Capitalism is the unequal distribution of wealth, Socialism is the equal distribution of poverty.

Grassley sent a letter to Susan Rice asking why she sent an email to herself on inauguration day documenting that Obama talked w Comey and stressed the need to conduct the Russia investigation "by the book".

The Comey / Obama mtg was on 5 Jan 2017

The President asked Comey to inform him if anything changes in the next few weeks that should affect how we share classified information with the incoming team. Comey said he would.

the letter has 12 questions to Rice. One of them is when and how Rice became aware that Clinton funded Steele.

Part of Rice's email is blacked out. Before the redaction, the email was Top Secret.

last para of Rice email raises some issues
