I'm guessing you lack "diversity preference points".

Sorry to hear. Sounds like you are more than qualified. You should hear the stories trying to get hired as a Chicago PO.

Good luck whatever you choose to pursue.

No. I have moved too many times over 8 years active duty.

Sorry to hear this. I can't pretend to understand the process you are going through but I know applying and waiting on jobs isn't the easiest thing to do in the best of circumstances.

I'm not female, not black and not hispanic. I'm the "wrong" minority.

You can self-identify as anything you want these days, you know.

I understand the frustration.

But I'd suggest just letting things play out.

Don't take yourself out of the game, make them turn you down.

If you don't want to apply for any more LE jobs that's fine. But letting your application that's "in" sit isn't going to cost you anything.

If they call for a poly or CVSA, you can decide then if you want to go, but give yourself some time before you 86 an app that has a chance of going all the way.

Edmond, is this LE agency short staffed? Sometimes finding a agency in your area that is hurting for staff can be the open door you need to open other doors.

I understand the frustration. It definitely sounds like you are a highly qualified candidate. At my previous job they didn't even want to interview me because I was "over qualified" (I actually was but I couldn't find a job in my field). I had a friend at that job make sure I got the interview which I knocked out of the park. I quickly became a top performer at that place.

Hang in there man.

Edmond-Sorry to hear it. Take it from someone who put themselves through the academy then got a bunch of bullshit answers from this agency and the other big agency in town, they are certainly looking for something other than the best candidates.

Sorry Edmond. I do agree with LDD though. I also agree with jhe888's post.

As the old adage say's. "When one door close's, another open's."

Chances are that is a hard gig to come by. Probably lots of experienced Leo's applying for a relocation there based on location and percs.

Don't take this stuff personally.

There are a whole lotta reasons that departments pass over perfectly good candidates...

mostly it's to put a check in a box that fills a diversity block....

I encourage my kid to check "other" whenever any type of question comes up...

And trust me, if that pisses you off-you don't wanna work there anyway.
