Thank you Para, there is now Mt Dew all over my monitor. Fortunately I finished the macadamia nuts before I clicked the button, or cleaning the screen would be a lot more work. Smile

Had that been in California, I would say the training came from the college Social Justice Professor (or from 90% of the faculty/staff). Roll Eyes

I know it sounds kooky, but I find that life just passes by a little more peacefully when I cooperate with law enforcement officers.

I found what you said riveting.

Amazing, ain't it?

I got stopped yesterday for the first time in a LONG time. Had me dead to rights, too, 61 in a 45. Not as wreckless as it sounds, rural road, a good mile from ANY habitation, but hey, it's posted at 45 and I was travelin'.

PLUS, my registration was expired. Since February. Town quit sending notices and I plumb forgot. Strike 2.

PLUS, I had a loaded gun laying on the passenger seat. I put it there in plain sight so as not to spook the officer.

So what happened?

The officer got a lot of Yessir and Nosir and here's my license, registration, proof of insurance and CWP. Why sure, you can hold the gun for the duration of the stop (he asked nicely and ensured me I'd get it back before he left).

Bottom line? "Here's your gun and a warning, slow down and get that truck registered."

Huh. A civil exchange between a LEO and a civilian and everybody went away happy. How is that even possible?

I have watched many of the sovereign citizen videos and I am always amazed that people think that spouting a bunch of gobbledy gook legal phrases will help them in any way. Or the other favourite line "get your superior here".
Although they appear to be mostly annoying delusional idiots taken in by a scam please don't forget that they can be extremely violent and have murdered LEO's in the past.

It seems that your average "sovereign citizen" thinks that spouting quasi-legalize nonsense impresses and intimidates others. It doesn't seem to matter to them that there's nothing backing their authoritarian language. All that matters is that it sounds tough and decisive.

BTW, is there any evidence that this bullshit has ever worked on any police office or any judge? Every time I see these schmoes, they're getting their ass handed to them.

Hoo, boy. There oughtta be a sign on the Oklahoma state line: "Do not mistake being polite and softspoken for being willing to endlessly put up with your shit. We aren't."

As for civil disobedience boy, do you find yourself wondering whether there was some connection between his lame-ass attempt to be a social justice warbler with the fact that his trailer had "Massage Mobile" painted on it in big white letters?
