A reporter from the Wall Street Journal asked Trump during the White House press briefing if it was “right time” to bring up a Second Amendment issue in the state of Virginia, citing a message on Twitter from the president.

President Trump had tweeted:

LIBERATE VIRGINIA, and save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege!

“I think that’s an easy one, that’s not even politics, we’re entitled to a Second Amendment,” Trump said. “To me that’s liberty … where does it all stop?”

Trump noted that the United States was selling an unprecedented amount of guns during the pandemic.

“It’s obviously a big issue, and then you have them working and signing documents and trying to take your Second Amendment away essentially,” Trump said, referring to Gov. Ralph Northam signing gun control legislation during the pandemic.

“I do think it’s an appropriate time to bring it up,” he added.

A little reminder of the work left to do here. This was a great documentary. Well edited, great photos and videos. The camera man was near the places I was on Lobby Day, so it was like reliving it again months later. It seems like ages ago after are current events taking up the news and our thoughts. Remember this fight needs to carry on.

Good job all who showed up, wrote emails, and made calls. We made a difference, we stopped the worst of the worst laws. They are coming back to try again, DO NOT LET THAT HAPPEN. Then we will vote their asses out in 2021!!!

For you non-Virginians (especially in freedom compromised states) watch the video anyways, take some of the good positive energy in, then pick up your phones and keyboards.

Some good news.

Judge says SafeSide gun range can reopen, despite COVID-19 business closures

By Staff | Posted: Mon 12:34 PM, Apr 27, 2020 | Updated: Mon 12:44 PM, Apr 27, 2020

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7)-- A Lynchburg judge has granted an injunction, saying a Lynchburg gun range is exempt from Governor Northam's order regarding businesses that should be closed during the coronavirus pandemic, meaning it's okay for the range to operate.

The entire ruling is attached to this story.

A lawsuit was filed by Virginia Citizens Defense League, Gun Owners of America and SafeSide Tactical, saying the governor's Executive Order (EO) to close non-essential businesses, specifically indoor gun ranges, is unconstitutional.

The suit alleged EO53 exceeds the governor’s authority as a matter of state law and that it violates the right to keep and bear arms protected by state constitution. "There is no pandemic exception to the fundamental liberties that the Constitution of Virginia Safeguards," argued David Browne, the plaintiff's attorney.

The ruling issued Monday by Judge F. Patrick Yeatts says, "The Governor, the Department of State Police, and all law enforcement divisions, agencies and officers within the commonwealth, are hereby enjoined and prohibited from enforcing, in any manor, the prohibition on public access to Lynchburg Range & Training, LLC (SafeSide)."

Gun ranges are specifically mentioned in the governor's order regarding non-essential businesses.

The ruling says Safeside still needs to follow social distancing and sanitizing guidelines set forth by health officials, and that nothing in the order should block enforcement of any other aspect of EO53.

And thus the most important reason to keep the Senate and Presidency in Trump and McConnells hands, judge appointments, the left has no qualm with testing the limits of the constitution, and with the liberal justices that have been previously appointed they have been able to circumvent the constitution.

Conservative Constitutional justices are the solution to the long term problem of legal harrassment of POTUS and to slow the growth of Justice based enforcement of bad laws based on political agendas..

NRA-ILA alert...storm's a comin'.

Virginia Anti-gun Activist Unveils 2021 Gun Control Agenda

MONDAY, APRIL 27, 2020

On April 10, disgraced Virginia Governor Ralph Northam signed five pieces of anti-gun legislation into law. Those measures criminalize the private sale of firearms, ration handgun sales to one a month, create a "red flag" gun confiscation scheme, punish property crime victims who fail to hastily report a firearm as stolen, and restrict how Virginia parents may store and introduce their children to firearms. Northam sent two pieces of anti-gun legislation back, including legislation that erodes the Right-to-Carry and the state firearms preemption statute, to the general assembly with governor's amendments. The General Assembly enacted both items of legislation on April 22.

As bad as this session was for Virginia gun owners, it could have been much worse. The General Assembly did not pass the proposed legislation that would have banned, and in some cases confiscated, commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms and their magazines and accessories that Northam demanded. Moreover, moderate members of the Senate Democratic caucus helped to limit the background check legislation to sales, leaving gun owners free to loan and gift firearms to their friends and family without government intrusion.

The worst case scenario was avoided thanks to the herculean efforts of NRA members and other gun rights activists across the Commonwealth. Between the sanctuary county movement that now covers the vast majority of the state, NRA members contacting their lawmakers and meeting with them in person, and the massive gun rights rally on January 20 in Richmond, Virginia gun owners have become the model for how a passionate grassroots movement can influence government policy.

That same passion will be needed going forward.

On April 19, podcast Transition Virginia, which describes itself as "an edgy, political news-commentary podcast on the transition of power in Virginia from a red to blue," released an episode featuring Secretary of Public Safety Brian Moran and Lori Haas of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV). Virginia gun rights advocates may remember Haas as a vocal cheerleader for Attorney General Mark Herring's 2015 attempt to remove reciprocity for 25 states Right-to-Carry permits. Haas opposed the compromise legislation with then-Governor Terry McAuliffe that reversed Herring's maneuver by granting reciprocity to all state Right-to-Carry permits. Longtime gun rights supporters will know that CSGV is the handgun prohibition organization that until 1990 was known as the National Coalition to Ban Handguns.

On the podcast, Haas laid out gun control activists' plans for the 2021 legislative session. Haas told the interviewer, "We'll be back... a couple people joked with me [Secretary Moran] one of them, 'Lori we've got seven bills what are we going to do next year?' Oh I've got a big list for you secretary." Haas made clear that a renewed push to ban commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms and their magazines was at the top of gun control advocates' agenda, claiming that such items "have no place in civil society." Haas also noted that her group is already working with legislators to pass a ban next year.

For his part, Moran claimed that commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms are not protected under the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The secretary also approvingly pointed to Maryland's ban on commonly-owned firearms.

Banning commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms or their magazines is unconstitutional. The U.S. Supreme Court has made clear that governments cannot ban these firearms as they are “in common use” for lawful purposes.

Taken alone, Justice Antonin Scalia’s opinion in Heller is enough to dispose of Moran’s comments. In the decision, Justice Scalia made clear that the types of firearms protected by the Second Amendment include those “in common use at the time” for “lawful purposes like self-defense.”

The firearms industry has estimated that Americans own more than 17.5 million semi-automatic rifles. The AR-15 is the most popular rifle in the U.S. and therefore indisputably “in common use” and protected by the Second Amendment.

All doubt as to whether the Supreme Court’s decisions in Heller and McDonald preclude bans on commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms was settled in 2015. That year, Justice Scalia joined Justice Thomas in a dissent from the denial of certiorari in Friedman v. Highland Park, a case concerning a local ban on commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms.

Justice Thomas explained,

Roughly five million Americans own AR-style semiautomatic rifles. The overwhelming majority of citizens who own and use such rifles do so for lawful purposes, including self-defense and target shooting. Under our precedents, that is all that is needed for citizens to have a right under the Second Amendment to keep such weapons.

A sweeping gun ban isn't all Haas and her gun prohibitionist allies are seeking to accomplish in 2021. Haas also told the podcast that gun control advocates are working on measures to restrict both concealed and open carry, so-called "safe storage" legislation, and a bill to enact an onerous firearm permit to purchase regime. In a decidedly regressive move, Haas even shared her interest in attacking Virginia's restoration of rights procedure, whereby former criminals who have paid their debt to society are able to regain their civil rights.

Moran and Haas's interview makes clear that the enemies of freedom are not satisfied with the gun controls enacted in Virginia this year. Therefore, the commonwealth's gun rights activists must remain vigilant in order to combat this perpetual threat to freedom. Virginians should start by informing their friends, loved ones, and other like-minded individuals of the continuing threat gun owners face in the commonwealth. This year gun owners proved that a determined grassroots effort can preserve freedom. Virginian gun rights supporters must continue to exhibit the same tenacity and determination in the years to come.

VCDL

Now that the Governor has signed bills into law that allow local government to implement their own gun-control, we need to get the Watch Teams for Local Governments (WTLG) committee formally implemented and running.

A watch team, which only needs to be one individual per locality, keeps a close eye on local government, looking for any gun-related items that pop up. If anything is found, they will notify the VCDL president immediately.

WTLG members are going to be VCDL's eyes and ears across the state to help us fight off any local gun-control.

The WTLG should be watching the local County Board of Supervisors, City Council, or Town Council like a hawk. Meeting agendas, which should be published prior to the meeting, should be carefully scrutinized - every meeting, every time.

Some meetings are televised and/or archived for viewing online. Those videos should be scanned for anything gun related that might come up unexpectedly during a meeting of the body.

Also, keeping a watchful eye on local media - television, radio, and newspapers - for any local gun-related items is important.

By doing all this, VCDL will have time to coordinate getting local gun owners to either fight back against bad measures, or provide support for good measures. But if we're not watching carefully, there could be some really bad surprises for gun owners.

Gun-related items including anything affecting: carry, transport, possession, or storage of firearms or ammunition; indoor or outdoor shooting ranges; and hunting, if it relates to firearms.

We need to start watching the localities immediately. Some localities will undoubtedly start to get ordinances prepared before the enabling law takes effect on July 1, so we will need to start fighting any such efforts early.

Right now we are only looking for team leaders. You need to have been a VCDL member on, or prior to, December 31, 2019.

Click here to see the current WTLG list. Localities in blue already have a WTLG team leader. Localities in black need a team leader.

To become a WTLG team leader, send an email to wtlg@vcdl.org with a subject line of WTLG.

In the message put your name, your locality, and your VCDL membership number if you know it.

It's stupid we have to worry about one location in the same state having different rules than their neighboring county. I can't wait for 2021. This is ridiculously absurd.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

Governer calls a state of emergency, 2 days after riots start.

What a fucking tool..

how about a time line

Lets put a time line together.
1: Dems get elected in midterms, Proceed to put forward firearms laws. Culminating in 2a County movement in Virginia that sweeps the nation and democrat states.
2 Jan 20th. Virginia rally 80-160k people showed up armed. 0 Incidents.
3 Dems lie and break Robert's rules of order during our legislative session. Multiple accounts of this type of rule cheating throughout other states. It fails for the most part towards to the first of March.
4 Dem states begin to push wild narratives about coronavirus. Push for a two-week lockdown that becomes 3 months. Dems push for mail in only voting
5 Lockdown starts to fail, We get murder hornets. People don't give a shit. they want their life back.
6 Increasing evidence shows corona models are wrong dem states begin to include any death as the corona, they push out primary election dates, extend the lockdown. Dems demand mail in only voting.
7 Dem states push for more restrictions, refuse to open up, refuse to lift the lockdown. People begin to ignore the lockdown. States and counties start citing people while releasing violent criminals. More demands for mail in voting.
8 Republican states open up, business begins to start up, the stranglehold is lifted. Dem states see many of their wealthiest taxpayers leave.
9 Lockdown has failed, states are opened at least partially. Mask orders are issued when it is shown that they are virtually ineffective. We have multiple reports of fraudulent mail in ballots being found or shipped.
10 We have the killing of a man from 4 months prior brought out by the news media. People are outraged. More calls for mail in voting.
11 Mask rules are in place, people do not give a crap as their governors are ignoring them in public.
12 We have the unfortunate death, I would say homicide, of a man in custody. 3rd party antifa members use this as an opportunity to incited riots during protests. Likely starting the looting and burning.
13, Riots will continue, voting days will be moved.

It's like Ralph is just rambling through the toolbox, playing "what's this" with everything he finds, like a kid going through the neighbor kid's toy box.

"Ooh, executive orders? Let's try that!"
"Aaah, lockdowns! Let's play with those for a while!"
"Declaration of State of Emergency? Cool!"

He's like Mickey Mouse in Fantasia, constantly in awe at the things he finds, though totally unaware of the consequences.

May his party fail miserably in the next election, and may he suffer punishment and anguish similar to that which he has put upon the good people of Virginia.

Jerk.

God bless America.

reminder: Virginia Republican Primary election is 23 June 2020.

First thing on the ballot should be the REP senate candidates. Daniel Gade is the candidate that I have been campaigning for.

Whoever wins this primary will go against Mark Warner in Nov 2020.

Let's have Virginia vote for Donald Trump in Nov and replace Warner with Daniel Gade.

And then let's start to work to take back the state govt.

Be sure all your friends and relatives are voting in the 23 June primary.

Observation: Dems are spending big on TV ads right now -- I saw 3-4 of them within an hour this evening. Other side of the coin: no significant TV ad presence on the part of Republicans right now [in my viewing area].
