Orguss, Woodman, and maybe SM are/were hosting avatars for people. I don't want to create extra work for them, but maybe check with one of them.

"The provided avatar URL does not appear to be accessible." That is what I get no matter how I try to change mine from a hosting site in the correct size.

I host avatars free for all.

If you need an image resized, hosted, let me know.

If you have a desire for something and you do not have a pic, I can find something to fit your idea.

Just shoot me an email.

Smile

Avatars should be easy to recognize, but I don’t think it’s a huge deal. I’ve used mine for as long as I can remember.

I've been toying with the idea of a few different avatars over the last few years and just haven't settled on one or made the time to figure out how to do it.

So, for the avatar-challenged like myself, if I were to pick an animated one, possibly from motion frames I already have, how would I go about taking them and creating an animated avatar?

How do you get a unique avatar?

Unique up on it.

How do you catch a tame avatar?

Tame way, unique up on it.

It always gets me when someone changes their avatar.
Not so much Orguss or holiday avatars but after a few years someone will up and change and I'll do a double take.

so what original picture is needed , or can you reduce all sizes?

is it best to start from a 400x 400? or can an 800 x 800 pic be just as good?

The best quality nearest the 60x60 pixels you have or can find.

I can reduce anything, and use lossless compression, most scale very well, but some images are just too much detail and become unrecognizable.
