Photobucket Problems???
I know many aren't fond of tinypic, but that is what I use to host my avatars.

So I upload pics to Flickr from my phone and then wait until I'm at a computer to post them on Sigforum.
Are you following the Flickr® guidelines about posting to external sites? They forbid just taking the photo URL and posting it anywhere--all postings elsewhere are required to have a link back to Flickr®. They provide a convenient "Share" function for each photo (white bent arrow at lower right) that creates a link for posting. You could have your account cancelled if you aren't following their rules. Just sayin'.

FWIW, the Guidelines are here: https://www.flickr.com/help/guidelines
The pertinent one says
quote:
•Link back to Flickr when you post your Flickr content elsewhere.
Flickr makes it possible to post content hosted on Flickr to other web sites. Pages on other web sites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr. This provides a way to get more information about the content and the photographer.

I just tried Flickr for my avatar - it also gives me an https link.

I've tried four different hosting sites, and they all give https links - it looks like the Forum software requires http avatar links. Every https link gives an error.

Where are you guys hosting your avatars where you can get them to work?
I looked at Imgur, but its Terms of Service specifically say not to use them for avatars.

Just an FYI. TinyPic is Photobucket company (find the copyright line at the bottom of their pages). I'm not convinced Photobucket is going to survive this. Whether Tinypic remains, if Photobucket goes down, is a question, but I'd hedge my bets.

This seems like a very desperate move for the current management. It makes me think, they are in financial straits.

You could use Woodman's offer if all else fails.

I use zenfolio.com for hosting now. They have packages as low as $5.00 per month.

As I want to sell my images I have a package that runs $144.00 per year which allows me to sell prints, and other items with my work on them.

The avatars aren't working on postimage because you're breaking your agreement with the terms of service.

Thanks so much for the assist.

Yesterday I deleted all of my photos.
Fortunately there were not that many as they needed to be deleted, with confirmation, one at a time.

Spent better than 45 minutes attempting to delete my account.
After turning off all ad blockers then waiting and waiting for the ads to load, I still had to logout and login three times.
Often the page would not load at all.
Finally it accepted my deletion request.

They managed to turn a somewhat decent system into a totally useless turd in less than a couple of months.

I read the Terms. How are your suggesting the terms are being broken?

My steaming coffee animated avatar has worked ever since switched to Postimage in April, and I do not see it prohibited in their ToS (can you point it out?). However, I tried to select a 4th of July avatar, and it wouldn't connect.

I'm now using TinyPic for avatars, and sticking with PostImage for everything else.

I'm pulling all my images now.
Let's see how their new business model works.
I guess they have to make money somehow. But not off a few hosted images from me.
