Why are public school teachers allowed to unionize? Why are any jobs that are funded by tax payers allowed to unionize? The union is bargaining against the tax payer...

I also think it's shitty that people who do not have children going to school still pay property taxes which go into the local school district. Paying for something they don't use.

And why do people have to pay out of pocket to send their child to a private school when they're already paying property tax which goes to schools?

If I lived in that area, I would start a movement to have that asshole fired. But it would probably go nowhere because a lot of people, the uninformed idiots, probably agree with him.

I drove through it last summer, but didn't spend any time there--was just out driving around for no purpose and it was in the way. Stopped at a couple of motorcycle places along the road and took some pictures.

Motherfucker...you didn't birth them, raise, them, nor do they have your name. You bet your ass I, as a parent, get the final say.

You take my tax money, you dance for me monkey. If it isn't reading, writing, or arithmetic, you're out of your fucking lane.

If this guy was looking for attention I’m thinking he’s going to get it. Have fun at the next PTO meeting champ, might want to consider a transfer to San Fran.

You have a right to be mad about it, but he doesn't see it that way. You don't sign his check, the School District does. The School District is a government entity. He works for the government. The government educates your child. Sure, you may fund it, but you really have no say because you can't withdraw your support if you disagree with what they do.
It's a socialist model: everyone pays, whether they use it or not, government makes the decisions.

That's why you don't want a socialist model for health care. Wink

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

"The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth."

Or Austin. They'll embrace this bullshit with open arms. In the name of "tolerance", "good ideas", and "wokeness"

You're right...I don't want the govt involved in healthcare.

The school district and board are public employees. They can be removed by the ballot box (at best).

Spot on. As a teacher, I shouldn't have to raise your kids. On the other hand, I'm not going to ignore them just because their parents do.

As to the "it takes a village" comment, I agree that raising kids is a team effort. I had non-family adults that made a difference in my life (church, Scouts, school, neighbors, etc.) These were the same people that would make sure news of any antics made it back to my parents before I did. Looking around at society, I'd say that method worked a lot better than "not my kid - not my problem."
