Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Notice that the color guard are wearing WW1-era "Doughboy" uniforms.

That's to honor the 100th anniversary of US troops arriving in France to help fight World War 1.

The first US troops arrived in France on June 26th, 1917. The American Expeditionary Force was officially established in France on July 5th, 1917.

Excellent!

I withhold snide comments I might make about France's abilities.

It is good to see our President making successful inroads in foreign policy.

Pretty awesome all around. Nice job by the French and our President and our men there to represent.

Thanks for posting this. The photo with all the spectators looking to the sky will be an internet meme for sure. Of course there is one lady looking straight ahead.

Glad to see you all posting and enjoying the parade. I just returned from this yesterday, having worked protection for the CSAF. Security was tight, and I am quite impressed with French security services!
