I frequent a few forums but I have to say, this is probably the best there is when it comes to friendly people and honest info. and answers. I have met some nice people here over the years and have given and received some nice karma items. The people here are more mature, not talking about age but mentally, when it comes to posts and responses.

On that note, I want to thank a local member I had the pleasure to meet. I met a member here the other day that lives near by me and posted a pic of some cera-kote work he did to his pistol on the site,Tommydog. I joked when I responded to his post about "where do I send my frame", as he did nice work on his refinish job and was just complimenting him on his good work. I had some questions for him about prep and what I needed in order to refinish a frame I had, as I have been tinkering around with doing some myself. After conversing with him, he offered to refinish an older, beat up Ruger P89 frame for a small fee to cover his costs which I jumped on. I never planned for him to offer his services but I am glad he did. I have have to say, I couldn't be happier with the results. It is refreshing to know there are non-local and local members who care about each other. There is no one local to me,that I know of who refinishes firearms that I would trust but I hope he flourishes with possibly doing it as a side business.

It seems you don't get that type of reaction on other sites. Thanks to you Para as well.

I've recently tried another forum for an unrelated hobby. It was just an exercise in frustration. Just goes to show how unique SIGforum really is.

There may not be as much interaction on outside subjects here but when there is, it's quality and kind. No one needs to prove their superiority.

Same for me. I haven't owned a Sig for 5 years, but Sigforum is still my go to forum for gun stuff.

What I like about this place is as big hearted as people are, they also have pretty sensitive BS meters for moochers. (And I'm not saying you are one.)

Not just a bunch of "I know more than you do" or "look how nice I really am" or "look how many nice toys I have."

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Agreed, I'm a member on multiple other forums, have many bookmarked, but this is easily the best, with 2 others tied for 2nd. The rest only get a cursory look from time to time.

I agree with some people mooching off others. I have always wanted to try my hand at refinishing firearms/pieces/parts, being a bit mechanically inclined, and will eventually get the items one day. For now, it is kind of expensive to get what I need and don't have a place to do it in. I have sent some items to coyotekiller, on the board here as well, and am also always pleased with his work.

That is cool and not a surprise in the least bit. It is the best community. Bar none. Nice work TD and not talking about the P89 Wink

I've been feelin' the love of SigForum for 15 years, and don't even bother with other gun forums, anymore. Six of my other Forum accounts have gone into inactivity, and that even includes HKPro, which I could never have guessed would happen.

This is truly a wondrous playground of idea, thought and creativity. And it doesn't hurt that the rif-raf are dispatched speedily.

I have yet to meet any "Moochers", but I'm sure some exist, as they do everywhere.
