A few weeks ago we picked up 2 minis, bourbon chocolate pecan and one of their apple varieties(do not remember which).

They were awesome. If they were open now, I would go pick up a few.

I'm in Mtn. Home. Stop by if you're passing through. We've got a few decent eateries, and one place that makes really good cake - but no pie place. Frown

Have you been ther when they have the street closed and the food trucks out on Friday?

We have not yet but hope to soon.

Still exploring this new area, much different than San Antonio.

I used to spend time in Mountain Home and the surrounding area back in the 70's. I grew up in North Little Rock and all three of our children are Razorbacks, oldest has another 18 months there to finish her PhD.

Oh no. I looked through the whole gallery planning my order-- only to discover that they do not do mail orders. Eek

That is just cruel.

I fucking love pie.
pumpkin and sweet potato are probably my favorite - or at least what I eat the most.

my mom made really good cherry and my sister makes a good blueberry.

I dated a girl in high school who made a great apple pie, too.

I'm 2000 miles from GA, but now I want some pie. Big Grin

No, the wife told me about it recently. We may go hang out with all the soulless hipsters one Friday.

Damned good thing that they are closed on Sundays or I'd be in my car right now headed down from Gainesville.

That Maple Pecan pie looks incredible. I could probably pick one up for around $800 in airfare and 1 night in a hotel. Smile

Yep. Cherry pie and blueberry pie were the staples in my home. Is there such thing as PAS (Pie Acquisition Syndrome)? I think I'm afflicted.

I, too, prefer pie for my birthday.
Usually have to make my own, though.

Bette Hagman's original recipe,

Vinegar Pastry

1cp white rice flour (I use sweet rice flour)
3\4cp tapioca flour
3\4 cp corn starch
level teaspoon of xanthum gum (original recipe called for a rounded teaspoon, I don't round)
3\4 teaspoon salt (kosher)
1 tablespoon sugar

mix together

cut in 3\4 cup shortening, (I use crisco or butter crisco or mix the 2,)
I put the shortening in the bowl cut up in chunks, (I mix it by hand, placing a dish towel over my hand and the bowl to keep the flour dust down)

once mixed
add an egg, (lightly beaten)
1 tablespoon of Vinegar (apple cider)
and enough water to get it all together, recipe calls for 2-3 tablespoons, but it tends to take a few more,

once you have it all blended, put it in a couple balls, wrap in cling film and put in the fridge for an hour or so,

pull and roll out for your crust,

it will make a large pie shell, or 2 small\medium
sometimes with a bit left over

for an apple pie I double it, and use the extra for home made poptarts

you can need the crap out of it, it will not get tough,
