"PORTLAND CONSIDERS “MANDATORY REST SPACES” FOR THE HOMELESS ON PRIVATE PROPERTY.

One idea that’s now being floated is to change the building codes so that all new structures (including private property, not just government buildings) include spaces for people to “rest” and “feel welcome and safe.” This understandably has prospective property owners concerned, since the wording is all quite vague and suggests that they will be forced to allow the homeless to camp in and around their buildings. (KATU News)

On Nov. 12, the commission narrowly approved a change to the design process language to say, “Provide opportunities to rest and be welcome.”

Oriana Magnera introduced the idea. "

Hard to guess what this gang will dream up next.

All I can say is WTF is wrong with these people? Certainly they are out of touch with everything related to life.
But this is what you get when you vote for left wing, liberal, socialist, democrat nim-rods!

Just another way to erode private property. It’s not yours, it’s the ‘collective’.

The ever-creeping hand of socialism.

I'm always happy to read these kinds of news. What's better than the progressive population, after voting these leftist nutcases into government, reap the rewards of their votes??

I smile now when I drive around Austin.. seeing homeless encampments everywhere and people have to move around them. Cannot wait to see the encampments moving into expensive neighborhoods of Austin. This is why I am against our excellent governor for intervening into this situation in Austin. People have to face the consequences of their votes, otherwise they'd continue to vote the Kalifornian way.

And we have a Winner.

I have heard the term "Collective" several times speaking with whack jobs when I have visited Portland the past 2-3 years.

These are the people, this is the mindset that our revolutionary war heroes fought and died to defeat. Read the grievances listed in the Declaration of Independence and compare them to what we are enduring. How many of them approach or exceed what is imposed on us? Read the Bill of Rights and see which of them are trespassed by our various and innumerable bureaucratic tyrants. We are in an awful state relative to liberty. That any gov't thinks to impose benefit to the public on private property is an outrage against our founding principles. My humble opinion.

Oriana Magnera, The “brain” behind the lunacy. Seems to cover the buzz words

“Climate and Energy Policy Coordinator at Verde, delivered the opening keynote on the topic of “Social Equity & Inclusion in the Clean Energy Economy.” Oriana braided her experience growing up in Colorado with her professional life as a climate and social justice advocate here in Oregon.”
