Mentally ? Well since this is my prison and mandatory back to back doubles are the norm, it’s beginning to wear folks down.
This is my first week back in the saddle and I can tell ya, I’m ready for my retirement date to roll around !!
Those doubles aren’t as easy as they used to be when I first got out of the academy! LoL

But everything is temporary and do long as folks remember that it’ll all be okay.

Well for starters, get over the "don't want to fly" nonsense. Get on a plane. You'll be fine. This fear of flying due to the virus is irrational. You'll have a better chance of arriving home safe and healthy than if you drive in any case.

If you fly from NY right now, you're supposed to self quarantine for 14 days. So there's that.

Talk about a thankless job. I taught a college course in a medium security federal prison. Nice by prison standards. It will open your eyes.

The aggravation has set in on what kind of circle jerk this is turning into. Those who grasp power in the dark of night do not like to give it back.

Add that to the fact that Kentucky is now "deeming" anyone over the age of 65 that dies from "natural causes" a 'rona death. I'm sure that the news hawks are hawking "xxxxx number of new deaths in the state this week" when in fact it isn't true.

It sure is seeming that the 'rona is one big lie after another.

A lot of states are like that. Queen Andy has decreed that anyone that enters Kentucky, or leaves the state and comes back shall be quarantined for 14 days. I drive into Illinois, and turn around and come back just about daily just because.

We did not do that here in Mississippi even though we are right next door to New Orleans which has had an astronomical number of cases. It is just not right and as our Governor would say It just ain't Neighborly.

Well, I like to say that I'm the same as on March 20th mentally, but I'm not, because my level of pissed off has reached close to #10. The little &%!ch that is the fake judge of Harris County has ordered everyone, starting next Monday for 30 days, who is out and about to wear some sort of face covering, or face a $1000 fine. There are a few exceptions, but that is the order for most everyone. She should be called Heildalgo, from now on. Mad

At least, the unions representing the officers from the Houston Police Department and Harris County deputies said their members are disinclined to enforce the order's compliance.

That completely SUCKS!!!

One thing I am firmly convinced of after this BS is that has given government "leaders" a platform for testing just how far they can push the populace and not get any kickback from it! Mad

I'm sad. Was really hoping to land a new job. Just found out I wasn't selected. I'm very employable and have a job I can return to when the madness ends, but I wanted that job. I wanted to start a new direction, it was with Amazon, so tons of chances to move up within the company. I was a little short on the qualifications, but I hoped due to the amount of candidates they constantly need I'd be selected.

Time to start looking more, I really don't even want to go back to my current job. I've always hated crowds in the malls and going into dirty people's houses, CV19 just amplifies that uneasiness.

Skins, good luck, you'll find a home....

So far we're doing fine, wife and I at home, working 24/7 (well, when I'm not on SF) separate offices.

Lucky for us in FL we can go outside, walk, mow the lawn, go to stores, Lowes, Publix, Trader Joes, Costco, ride the motorcycle just to ride, get gas without fear of some government enforcement, fines and jail.

Feel for you guys in states with Commandants for Leaders.. People need to socialize and escape, if not it's going to get out of hand,

Maybe that's what we need, citizens to finally get fed up with overbearing overzealous politicians, another month of governors refusing to relent and the masses may just step up.

Frankly think its going to take a bit of revolution in order to open up things again.

These people in charge a) love the power b) love the attention and tv time c) think they are saving the world and want credit d) are afraid to open up and have deaths increase and take the blame and the end of their careers.

Doctors that are on TV don't want to be known as the "guy that killed millions" by saying it's safe.

They'll relent when enough people start hitting back, and I don't mean storming the capital buildings with pitchforks and guns... When the social media tide turns.

Nothing on TV is about anything but CV19, we'd need a natural disaster, terror attack, to change the narrative...

Skins2881, As much as you can try to stay positive. It’s a hard damn job market right now. I know quite a few places that have hiring freezes going on or sadly in many cases budget cuts and lay offs. This too shall pass. A good friend of mine who is in nursing thought the grass would be greener on the other side and left our local hospital only to discover the new hospital is just as much of a cluster and actually quite a bit worse. She has not been able to come back yet and probably won’t be able to for a while. Hang in there and keep interviewing. Eventually something good will open up.

Thanks stickman, luckily I'm still employed and there is some work. I'm choosing to sit it out right now and let one guy take all the Virginia jobs. I'm heading in for a small job either tomorrow or Monday to a vacant house. Probably only an hour or two worth of work, but it will be nice to go work for a bit. Things are starting to pick back up so I can return to work even if it's halftime instead of full-time. I'm actually pretty lucky. Whenever this stupid shit is over and malls open back up, I'll be able to get my 40 in, may not be all the overtime I'm used to working, but should be close to or at 40 hours. I really shouldn't be bitching, many would envy being in my position and being able to turn down some work. Talked to boss yesterday and am eyeing returning on 5/1, some money coming in would be nice even at 20hrs a week.

Now might not be the best time for a career change, but I really want to do something different. I'm tired of being the expert, I want to learn new stuff and have a chance to advance. I'm topped out in possible pay in my current line of work and it's getting really boring at this point.

Time to start looking in earnest. I'll probably have to take a pay cut in order to change directions, but in the end if growth potential (financially and intellectually) it will be worth it.

No way in hell I would comply with such an order. Forcing people to wear face coverings outside? What country is this? Judge Bolshevik can kiss my ass.

Jesse, I’m sorry you didn’t get that Amazon job. I was really hoping that you would get it. Have you tried applying for the Google data center in Leesburg? I believe they have one there.
