The pretty blue sky is so peaceful; so restful.

"I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation."

Those are funny.

Many of those people genuinely think they are "right." (I know, I've dealt with some. Some are frauds, but many think they are right.) What I don't understand is how you can believe you are right, when no societal institution agrees with you. Since law is a societal construct, if society doesn't agree with you, you are, by definition, wrong.

And the irony of their internal contradictions also amuses me. How can she sue the cops in a court she doesn't think is valid? Why would the guy be interested in talking to the prosecutor if he thinks the court has no power over him?

The answer is, of course, that they realize that they will go to jail if they don't participate in the system. On that, see my first point. If the system says you are wrong, you are wrong.

It must hurt their heads.

I was sued by one of those loons, in the Sovereign Citizens Court of Montana, or something like that, because I refused to accept a couple hundred dollars in their bogus sovereign notes to redeem a property in foreclosure.

It was for $10 million in damages, IIRC. I photocopied $10 million in their bogus notes and sent that, and never heard another peep. I believe Don Bauder wrote it up in the San Diego Union-Tribune along with some other encounters, like the guy who bought a Lexus with his, ahhh, errr, cash.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

"Nice speech but you're still not going to go through here."

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Did you hear the guy say it was an admiralty court? He thinks that because there is gold fringe around the flag in the courtroom. It matters in his mind because the "admiralty" court has no power over him.

You can't make it up.

(Remember, we have no dedicated admiralty courts in the United States. Our courts of general jurisdiction apply admiralty law in appropriate cases, just as they apply criminal law in criminal cases, and family law in family cases.)

I love it: Step back click......

almost like: stop "bang" or I will shoot...

I can see him reviewing his training in his head: let's see. They said deploy the taser, order the subject to step back, and if they don't you may then activate the taser. No one said there had to be more then a millisecond after the step back command. I followed procedure.

Crazy dude: This old man isn't going to aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh...
