I love seeing the kids. I give them huge grabs of candy. I can not stand the infiltration of Halloween into the adult workplace. Cant stand it.
The last time I put on a costume, I was in college. That is where it should end. Just my take, and I am sure many will disagree.

You cared enough to start a thread about how you don't care. Razz Myself, just another day. I neither dislike nor like it.

I’m sick of all those runny nosed, virus laden, messy little heathens come begging at my door.

And don’t get me started on their kids. Smile

Well my daughter's 12 and this may be the last Halloween she goes out trick or treating. Kind of a bummer, but they all grow up...

I came up with a new plan for the this year. The kids with costumes get the good stuff. Even if they're older but bother wearing a costume they get the good stuff, but show up wearing street clothes and you're getting a dum dum sucker. Lol

At least on Halloween you can still get mail.

I don't mind it. The kids are cute. I get into the candy myself. When the kids knock at the door, I knock right back before I open it. Makes them giggle. By now it's an old gag for the teenagers, but it still gets them laughing. Mrs DF hates answering the door. She doesn't like the gruesome displays. Prefers the more traditional Christian sense of all hallowed eve. She's a stick in the mud on this one. Doesn't keep her from pilfering the candy though. Big Grin

Anyone over the age of 12 trick or treating, not escorting a little brother or sister, should be beaten. Big Grin

The "me" generations took this special day for children and ruined it like everything else. Grumble grumble, bah humbug, off my lawn.

And for ME...Halloween is a memorable as well as a near sacred holiday. Many years back a young FN in MT "Became a Man" as a result of a amenable girl's slutty Halloween costume at a party.

So it's a holiday of reflection and happy memories for me. LOL.

I'm neutral on Holloween. It's fine for kids, grown very commercialized in recent times. I have no desire to dress up for a costume party.

I don't mind others participating. Our house is tucked away a good bit, maybe to 'scary' for any trick or treaters.

Our youngest has outgrown trick or treating. We used to take him to a real neighborhood with friends, fun times. A good friend lived there, so we had somewhat of a reason to be there. I liked the house that offered a 'hot toddy' for the parents.

Ha! I freaking love it! Not just for the scantily clad girls.

It's just the time of year, crisp air, leaves changing color. I read the works of Poe and watch scary movies with my wife.

We moved into a new house in a nice, new neighborhood and my wife and I spent the evening freaking kids out (or more so me).

Piped The Halloween theme song on repeat over the Bose speakers to set the mood in front of our house. I dressed in camouflage while hiding in the bushes next to our driveway, before the porch ...I had a stick with a skull on the end of it.

When the kids would come up for candy, at just the right time, I'd jump out and freak them out. Even the most "too cool" teenager would jump out of their skin! It was hilariously fun! Big Grin

Would people say I'm immature, sure. But I know how to have fun. I loove Halloween.

I didn't do anything last night. Any more I can't keep up with what night the kids are going to come around (I don't have any) and the last few years there's only been a couple come by, anyway--most of them go off to parties somewhere.

I love Halloween because what's more fun than making kids happy with candy. I have great memories of trick or treating as a kid. It's changed a lot since the time I was growing up. I now live in a neighborhood with very few kids so there is no trick or treating in my area. I used to buy some candy "just in case" but this was the first year I gave up and just accepted that no one was coming. Sad.

We still get a fairly large turnout around here for Halloween. Decorate the front of the house just a little, turn the porch light on, and have fun passing out candy to eighty kids or so.

Never really been a fan of it, myself. I gave up Trick or Treating at a very young age. I'm all for people enjoying Halloween, but I don't partake.
