I have done a lot of traveling in my time, probably more than most. After my junior year of high school we moved from Ohio to Maryland, when my Dad got transferred for work. After that I was in the military for 4 years. After the military i spent about the next 8 years traveling a lot for work. I still hate to travel.

So I have lived in 7 states, and been to every state except Alaska and Hawaii.

How about you guys, how many states have you been to (spending atleast 24 hours there) and how many have you lived in?

I was going to say 49 (or is it 56?) until I read that caveat. The only state I haven’t set foot in is Louisiana.

I’ve lived in 11 states and four foreign countries.

Only lived in Missouri and Iowa, I've been to about half the states, everything from Minnesota to Texas and most in between here in flyover country, only as far northeast as North Carolina and nowhere west of Kansas and Oklahoma other than Arizona a couple times and an overnight at a hotel next to LAX for work, but I've been to Hawaii and Alaska for about 10 days each. I've only been throughout Ontario for leaving the country, but have been all the way south to South Padre Island, seeing what I saw there gave me no desire to cross the border.

I actually counted last week. Headed to New Orleans tomorrow, and Louisiana will make 32 states.

Guam - obviously not a state, but US territory. This is the first US territory that I set foot in, in 1975, on the way to the US mainland.

CA - visiting relatives
FL - vacation & conference
HI - honeymoon
IL - conference
LA - conference
MI - visiting relatives
NV - conference & visiting relatives
VA - conference & visiting relatives
WA - visiting relatives

TX - the only state I've lived in.
