I'm going to settle this:

The easiest, cheap, time-tested, and best shave can be achieved with these three things:

This, a single blade schick injector,

and one of these, a badger brush,

and some of this, glycerine based shaving soap/cream,

Try it for 7 days and see for yourself...and I have no patents and no government or hospitals are buying any of them from me... Roll Eyes

Long time ago, a friend of mine actually told me shaving cream is designed to wear the razor faster.

I have not read all the post, but...

If the razor turns in to a shaven off mustache and lube mixture gunk pile, don't I still need to wash it off with water?

Besides, I was under the impression that blades get dull because it cuts things.

There is not any joking going on here. What goes on here, is forum members helping out other forum members.....well, except fnforme...I'm not sure what his problem is. lol.

If timdogg6 says it doesn't work for him...then I trust that it doesn't work for him. He's offered to send the rest of your product to anyone who contacts him (legitimate forum members), so they may try it. That's a pretty stand up thing to do.

Well, like guns, not every oil would prevent rust.

It has to displace the water from the metal surface, and then spread to create a protective barrier. Think about products like Weapon Shield or Corrosion X.

But, mineral oil? Ehhh....

Hell. In the interest of a second opinion, If Timdog is still willing, i will test this as well and post my results.

I have no dog in this fight and will try the product for a week and let you guys know what i experience, good and bad.

I'm still keeping my razor in mineral oil, I so far have 3 shaves on it, and about 1 week in the oil non-stop. I have noticed that until you get the mineral oil out....the shave is not very good. I may try some sort of alcohol spray or something to get the oil out of the blades.

I use an electric. A full hair trimmer (unless i have to, i don't shave) and then a full electric shaver and then a razor for the finish work.

My beard is pretty thick (although with all the gray and blonde hairs you wouldn't know it) and shaveing SUCKS.

I'm not sure. If all that's for saving cost, then wouldn't extra expenditure on alcohol or oil stuff also add up?

If cost is the most concern, I use electric shaver, and I get about 3 months, or 6 month if I keep forget to replace it, use out of each blade.

The mineral oil cost me less than $2, I just filled half of a coffee mug (a bushmaster coffee mug Big Grin ), and I drop the razor back into that after I'm done shaving. The mineral oil I bought for $2 will probably last a year or so. If I buy some alcohol...that'll be pretty comparable in cost. So...if I can make a blade last twice as long by this method...it pays for itself the first time.

We'll see. I'll let you guys know when it becomes too dull to shave with anymore. I tend to get a full week's worth of shaving (6-8 shaves) on a blade...so I need it to last for 14 shaves for me to be convinced.

Of course....I'm only shaving every 3 or 4 days right now...because I'm self employed...and I can Big Grin One of the few benefits I have. I shave when I need to look presentable. And only then.

I've been using the mineral oil like some others here since this thread gave me the idea. Blades last longer and smooth shaves. Thanks for the tip! Wink

The oils contain the whiskers and roll up in a ball on the backside of the blade cartridge. This is out of the way of the cutting edge. This is the first time I have ever seen anything remain on the blades. The high temperature oils form a barrier coat on the blades to protect them and act as a lubricant to pass the whiskers through the blades. Could you also send me your blade. I will gladly pay you for it. Thanks Ron

All your "product" is, is unscented baby oil and mineral oil. Your patent is for a plastic cup that holds oil, not for any sort of high temperature oils. Nothing you are selling here is revolutionary. I wipe my blades with olive oil and guess what? They last longer. I do not use a special cup or some clear packaged baby oil from a modern day door to door salesman. After shaving, clean your blades, dry them and give them a little coat of oil to protect the blades. That's it. That's all you have to do to make your blades last longer. Your blades will get dull over time from cutting, no amount of shaving with oil will stop this from happening. So just shave normally, but remember to take the extra step of drying and coating with oil and you will see your blades last longer.

I think you've found someone who has not raved about how well it works, and I do find it hard to believe your statement in the first place. I'd rethink your marketing statements.

Nothing against your product since I have not tried it.

Why not just use oil to shave with, instead of soap or gel? Kind of like this:

http://www.kmishop.com/AlphaOil-Shave-Oil-PUK_AOUM/

Wouldn't this do the same thing? I have used the same blade for 3 weeks (shaving every other day) using this and threw it away today. The strip across the top of the blade turned white about a week ago and it was still good to use.

Ron, I am continuing to use the same blade as it seems to be lasting longer than I expected, credit to your product that I have already spoken of. As for the full refund while I do appreciate your generosity in this respect, I am taking KevinCW up on his request to continue the experiment as I believe that is what is best for this members of this board.

Frankly, since I am still using the blade and find it to still be sharp, I can only be left with the conclusion that there is nothing wrong with this blade, it is doing what it is supposed to or it would be hacking my face up now. And in reference to the blade not working, the low grade infection or irritation or whatever you called it is GONE. The minute I stopped shaving with your product it vansihed, here is a shot I just took.

I want all forum members to be aware of one thing. I am a small business owner and love to see the entrepenurial method work for people and there is nothing I wished more than for me to be able to sing praises about your product and allow you to recieve new orders from that and for me to be saving money on razor blades.

For me, I reached a point where my integrity to the members of this forum would be compromised if I endorsed your product in any way other than what I have. My integrity is worth more than the refund (sorry to sound harsh).

Your product did not work for me, maybe it will for someone else. I will continue to soak my blades in Baby Oil of some sort as I think that is close enough to your product to reach my goal of preserving balde life between shaves.

I wish you the best of luck and I hope that I am the exception.

Admittedly, I did not read this entire thread, but while shaving this morning, I was thiking about this discussion. I wonder, how can you wash the shaved whiskers out from between the blades without running water? Won't they get all clogged up just using oil...no matter how light it is?

Gamedayron. It's time for you to post an ad in the classifieds. That's all this thread has become. So let it die, and take to selling your product in the appropriate area of the board.
