Curious to know if "stuff" ( microbs, bacteria or germies) can live in just the mineral oil ?

is that why he adds the other aloe and stuff.

Day 1
I used the product exactly as show, the blade is a Gillete Mach 3 not sure exactly what type. The handle for the razor is a power one but I dont use the vibrating function.

Yesterday I shaved for the first time with a new blade in the shower with gel and water. That gives me a super good shave with no irritation. Thus my beard on day 1 is shorter on day 1 than normal. I expect day 2 to be my normal beard length.

I let the blade soak in the solution for about 10 minutes before I started shaving. Here is the progression.
Here is the blade before I started, the pic is terrible and makes the blade look old, I assure you it is brand new.

Before Shaving See next 2 below

After shaving

About 5 minutes after shaving I took this picture

The irritation in the last picture is normal for me if I shave quickly.
I will say that the shave was rather scratchy and I am not sure if I used enough oil although I did use what was recomended. My thought are initially that my skin is irritated more than normal, as we are 3 hours post shave and I still feel a little irritation. (I do shave up and down.)

It is going to take some getting used to, you can see some areas were not shaved as well as others. There is a real potential for a close shave. Frankly, I was scared shaving with this stuff the first time. I would consider myself to have oily skin and a coarse beard but there isnt a whole lot of it.

I have fought with one of the world's toughest beards for more than thity-five years. I have used every shaving method known to man. Many years ago I began to wonder why it is I can get a very close shave with a single edged straight razor but yet the razor makers keep adding MORE blades to their products? IT dawned on me-MARKETING. The razor companies are not in the business of making long lasting products that are cheap. There is no benefit to them to do so. THey are in the business of selling us A LOT of blades. So why should I take their advice about what to shave with to make their blades last longer? Do you really think they are going to tell you how to avoid buying MORE of their product?

I do not know how this new product performs but I have a hunch that someone who does not work for a blade maker just might be a little more interested in creating a product that will lengthen the life of a blade than someone who is trying to sell me "disposable blades".

I am always sceptical about anyone who tries to sell me something, but I can't help thinking that, if there is a way to make blades last longer, the blade manufacturer isn't going to tell you about it.

I'm not saying this product is the answer but the developments the blade makers have been hawking sure aren't.

After this thread started I started leaving my razor in some mineral oil I had in the house. Between the Noxema and the mineral oil my shaves seem smoother and the blade lasts a little longer.

I'd like to know what the difference is between his oil and this:

Yep...FLAT OUT PIMP'N...that's Ron.

If you're lucky this thread will be the end of him...don't ask what else he might bring to the table...you DON'T WANT TO KNOW.

It's bad enough to get a RIVALS wide banishment. He says it's only posting...but RIVALS free boards allow ANYONE to read their posts. So when he says he's read only it only because RIVALS hasn't felt the need to design a software to prevent just RON from reading...although I'm sure they've been tempted.

Even the Iowa board has banished him...and he WAS a sponsor at the time. And no I'm NOT kidding.

Gamedayron, thank you for your input and I am using the product exactly as illustrated on your website and re-printed in your last post.

Thanks for the info on the 10 days for the irritation. I will continue this for 2 weeks to add an extra 5 days to the experiment. While your pot is certainly warranted in addressing the issue of the irritation I think the folks here just kind of want to see how this progresses and your continued input may appear as an attempt to steer the course of this and I am not sure that is the perception you want. Thanks for the tip and I will continue to report on this.

PS I am taking 2 pictures each time of the same area. This post so far has taught me that I have a freckle on my neck, who knew?

Can you explain the difference between your oil and this?

Is it just me, or does anyone else get uncomfortable looking at full-screen, close-up shots of man skin and man stubble?

Here, this might help erase that image from your mind.

Don't thank me. Glad to help...

I think Timdogg6 is in the process of doing a field test, and reporting back here.

Sorry to keep bumping this para but I have been doing a field test on this stuff for 7 days and am stopping today.

Here are ther results of my test. Due to an intese irritation of my skin I am stopping this test. Essentially my results are as follows:
Does the revolt make your blades last longer. I have to say yes.

Is the shave smooth, no, your skin will feel smooth but that is just becasue it is covered in baby oil, but the shave is not as close as with gel and blade like I normally use.
Frankly, I live in S. Florida and having my face covered in oil all day is very uncomfortable.

There is one fatal flaw with this shaving system. You can't rinse the blade during your shave. The instructions tell you to leave the solution on the blades and rinse at the end. Thus the blades get full of hair and can no longer cut properly. Thus they begin ripping the hair out of your face. This was not very comfortable for me. (Due to the prior complaints I will spare you more pictures of my ugly mug)

1/2 way through my shave today when I decided to stop this foolishness. I took the shots above and I decided to rinse the blade and keep shaving, this made a huge difference. Water got rid of the hair but since the thing had been soaking in oil for a week I doubt the water actually effected the blade.

Once I did this I got a remarkably close shave that was comfortable. Afterwards it did have a little heat to my face that was not normal but was better than the napalm effect that I had going all last week. However, I am still left to walk aroudn with oil all over my face today.

So I do not doubt that leaving the blades in the solution helped them last longer, I will continue to use the product in that manner by leaving the blades in the solution between shaves, but I am not using this as a shaving method any longer, it hurts, coats my face in oil all day and doesnt give a great shave.

Anyone who wishes to try this to verify my results I will mail my solution to free of charge and you can take it from there. Must have 100 posts to qualify to maintain the integrity of the study.

Thanks for the test. From reading it I have no doubt as to your method or conclusions. My own experience in shaving would make me doubt the "no rinse" concept.

Thanks for your effort and sharing the results.

Yes. Thanks. I have started just pouring a little mineral oil across the face of my razor after shaving. The blade does seem to be retaining it's edge better, for sure. I continue to shave as normal. I shave in the shower, since I shave my head. I just use aloe bar soap as shaving lube, since it works as well or better than shaving cream for me. I rinse the blade between every swipe, so as to remove the hair from between the blades.

Thanks again.

So in the end did we prove that shaving soap or normal cream is sufficient for most people and this break through product may not be all its cracked up to be?

Soaking in mineral oil does almost triple the blade life for me , but yeah, I squirt just a tiny amount of alcahol on the blades prior to shaving to dispearse the oil.
