Question about a gift for a Mason. Login/Join

A friend of mine is going to be appointed/sworn in as the Grand Master of Masons of NE. I do not know much about the inner workings of the Masons but, I am confident this is a great honor and I am proud of him.

So my question is what would be an appropriate gift since I cannot make the ceremony. We are friends, not particularly close. He has lived about three hours away for about a decade now and we still meet up about twice a year to have dinner and to hang out for a few hours.

Thank you for your help.

I've bought one of these for a cousin that joined the Masons. But he was a Case XX knife lover as well, so it made sense.

A nice apron case would be an appropriate gift for your friend.

I visited Ireland this summer. went to the Waterford Crystal factory.

I ordered a gift for all my officers in my lodge. referred to as a hockey puck, it is about the size of a puck and I had the Symbol of a Mason engraved inside. very beautiful.

How about a plaque commemorating him becoming the Worshipful Grand Master?

Oh, that kind of Mason.

Get him one of those Eyes Wide Shut masks, and see if he has a sense of humor.

Arc.

I've been active in Masonry for many years including being a Past Grand Officer and lots of other things. He is going to be swamped with every kind of masonic gift you can imagine from within the fraternity. If you were to sit down and write him a letter expressing just what you have said here... That you are proud of him. It's a great accomplishment. Tell him how much you value his friendship and how you are looking forward to spending some time with him and hearing all about his experience as Grand Master. This will mean more to him than any token you could purchase. It would to me.
