Work pant with room for thick 1.5" belt? Login/Join

When I was in the service I often wore 5.11 pants for civvies. This worked well for CCW as the loops fit a double layer 1.5" belt. Now I'm out and found that I mess up the 5.11 stuff with grease, so I've been using Dickies 874 pants. They are cheap and hold up decently well, to the point they are about all I wear lately. But I have found both my Bullhide and Milt Sparks belts won't fit in the loops. I've been using a single layer Bullhide but it is way too floppy to support CCW.

Anyone have experience with work pants that have loops big enough for a thicker belt?

Duluth Trading has several styles of work pants, and their belt loops are big enough for a thick gun belt.

I wear Dickies 85283. They will BARELY fit a 1.5" thick gun belt through them, with about a 1/16" or less to spare. Probably the same loops as the ones you are using though.

Check L A Police Gear.
They offer many styles of pants that should satisfy your needs.

All my Duluth pants (jeans and work pants) fit a fairly thick RGRizzle leather belt that is 1.5".

Lee makes comfort fit khakis and jeans that fit 1.5" belts. They are also stretchy and are fantastic for CCW.
I've never owned a pair of Lees until I got the khakis. I discovered they made the jeans that stretch and that the only thing I buy now.

Another vote for Duluth Trading's firehose pants (all styles).

Have a "semi" business office attire in my retired state and the Duluth's are great.

1 1/4 inch gun belt. I carry a P01 or a P226 with one with no problems.

I wear my wide gunbelt with Wranglers. Wrangler also makes Relaxed Fit jeans which stretch.

I really like my DuluthFlex Fire Hose Work Pants. Most comfortable cargo pants I have ever owned.

I also really like my DuluthFlex Ballroom 5-Pocket Jeans. Hands down, they are the most comfortable jean I have ever owned.

Both are great with 1.5" gun belts, and my Armour belt is very thick.

I have three pair, one dedicated to yard work. Their loops take my 1.75" Wilderness Instructors belt just fine.

The only "issue" I have with them is their abundance of pockets, within pockets, within pockets. Sometimes you can feel from the outside that you left something inside, but finding which pocket it is in can be a challenge. They make excellent pants for my shooting pants. I also like that the flap on the cargo pockets is narrower in width than the width of the pocket, so it can be tucked into the cargo pocket easily and lay flat.

I ordered a set of the Duluth Fire Hose Flex pants last night, to give them a try. One of my gripes about the Dickies is the pockets are so shallow. I got spoiled wearing 5.11 and NWU's and hated the pockets.

Wrangler Riggs Trousers.

These are great trousers. Durable, comfortable, and a decent design.
