So sorry to hear that. Way too many people dealing with a lot of internal pain and keeping it all to themselves and if we only knew that they needed some help. There have been a couple of those at the hospital that my Wife works at that shocked everyone.

I know first hand how hard animal rehab is. Every time you have to kill something magnificent and all it wants to do is live, it takes a piece of your soul until there is nothing left.

I did not want to become like the others, so I left. I still have nightmares over every last one that was lost. The victories are few and far between and the losses are 99 to 1.

Its a manic deep depressive lifestyle.

She was one of the few left that was pushing a teetering species back from the brink and now they have taken a severe blow.

If her friend is a mutual friend to you, let him know, it certainly is not his fault. Authorities may have Baker'ed her, or she may have talked her way out, and even if she did go in, no guarantee that she would not fall back.

And all the second quessing he can do will not bring her back, but eat away at his life.

Amanda would not want that for a friend. No one would.

Tell him to embrace the good things she did and take up something himself to preserve her work in any way he is able.

That, at the end of the thing, is all we can do.

Some questions, we never get an answer we need.

That is very sad on many levels. My condolences.

This is truly sad to hear. Thoughts and prayers for all involved. Suicide is both sad and tragic and, most of the time leaves lots of unanswered questions.

Mars, so sorry for the loss of your friend. I believe that she will be at peace finally.

It's takes a special kind of person to do that type of work.

Sorry for your loss, Mars. Condolences for her family and friends.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
