Not that I don’t think he is getting his just desserts but I have an academic question. Is there a statute of limitations on his crimes? It seems like most of these women voluntarily took some pills from him and swallowed them. He may not have told them what the pills were, but still - I think at that point you are pretty much agreeing to let him do whatever to you. My understanding is that for the vast majority of his accusers, the statute of limitations was up a long time ago. If there were a limitations period that had run, he wouldn't have been tried. It is probably a long one for semi-violent sexual crimes. 20 years. Some of the crimes did have limitations periods that already ran. I guess he will get some jail time. At least it may be a deterrent to others. He probably will get some deferential treatment from both the state (for being 80), and from other inmates (for being famous). But at 80, he might not last very long in jail.
