Glad the OP got what he wanted. I bought my ‘03 SR5 with 231k for $5500 over years ago. Now almost 260 and going strong. I love the V8. I looked at a Tacoma but can’t live without a V8. So, I’ll have to look at the Tundra or Sequoia.

Yup, I picked up a pretty well maintained '08 LX570. About 1000 miles later and I'm really liking it. Gone through some pretty scary (for me) ruts and stuff and it's been working like a champ so far. Really looking forward to taking some off pavement trips in spring/summer/fall next year.

Looks nice... the '08 LX570 is far more plush than the 2008 4Runner:

Exterior is similar:

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

HELLCAT? HELL YA!

But... as a practical matter... I may keep an eye out for one of those LX570s for the next one....
