I'm kinda old and sometimes I guess I forget things, but I remember THAT DAY very, very clearly. I watched, as did millions of others, the horror unfold and, like them, wondered when it would stop. When those towers collapsed, I just couldn't believe it.

I won't forget all those victims and all those first responders-those that died that day and those who died later, even up to this present day.

Para, thanks for expressing your love for this country and the patriots that defend it. America is exceptional; grateful for the Founding Fathers and all our sons and daughters that keep us free.

The words spoken by a great American at the scene of one our most horrific events over a hundred years earlier are most appropriate on the anniversary of 9/11:
"But, in a larger sense, we can not consecrate, we can not hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here have consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us. That from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion. That we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain. That this nation, under God, shall have a new rebirth of freedom. And that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth".
Abraham Lincoln.

God bless this great nation and may he have mercy on us.

Maybe some day we can forgive, but we must never, ever forget!

Never forgot where I was when I heard -- just about THIS close to finding a recruiter with the question "I spent 24+ years, honorably retired, where do I sign?"

Tonight, I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose worlds have been shattered, for all whose sense of safety and security has been threatened. And I pray they will be comforted by a Power greater than any of us, spoken through the ages in Psalm 23:

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil for you are with me.

This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time. None of us will ever forget this day, yet we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world.

Thank you. Good night. And God bless America.

George W Bush Sept 11 2001

Yes indeed. God bless this Nation.

I was down in Heber City today to bring my daughter to her swim lesson. Snapped this pic while driving down Main Street. I love God's country. Old no. 1 on the fireman's truck ladder.
