The current fall of the Clintons, and the way they or their era of ascendancy has been depicted in the media, reminds me of the way the Kennedys were viewed decades ago. There was a magazine cover--maybe LIFE--from what had to be the early sixties, that depicted the family as Presidents from John, through Robert, Teddy, and John-John in succeeding terms. Does anyone remember it? Can you find and link a photo? I haven't had any luck so far. Curious to see it again.

The Kennedys are done in modern American politics. Have been for awhile. No longer relevant whatsoever.

I don't think anyone from the Democratic Party even cares. And the Clintons will end up like them also, if not now. Socialist Bernie is the new paradigm.

Doesn't help that two of them were assassinated. That'd keep me out of politics if my family was murdered.

Many similarities between the Kennedy White House and the Trump White House.
Big difference is Kennedy as a Democrat has been elevated to near saint hood status, and Trump as a "republican" is depicted as a lunatic.

Kennedy depicted and treated as the royal family( All family money descended from a bootlegger/ruthless crook father" and that was, and still is acceptable. He actually BOUGHT the White house for his son. No mention of that. Jackie Kennedy and all the Kennedy women were also like American royalty, there shit did not stink. Kennedy's children were the GREATEST, truly Americas best bet for the future. We all celebrated when the Kennedy Kids were given Pepperoni Pony as gift at the White House. As Obama, Kennedy never held a real job. Kennedy should be given credit for his military service.
Kennedy most noted for his courage in facing down the Russians in the Cuban Missile conflict, the closest we have gotten to a nuclear war.The Russians and the Cubans installed Nuclear missiles in Cuba, 90 miles away from our shores, minutes away from striking us. Kennedy thought that that was unacceptable, we could not allow the Russians to hold us hostage like that.
Kennedy blockaded Cuba with war ships and directly confronted the Russians at sea stopping ships loaded with Russian Nuclear missiles with orders to sink those ships if they did not turn around. The Russians were more than capable of actually lunching an all out multiple nuclear strike against any part or all of the US.

Trump is depicted as the ultimate in white privilege, given his wealth from his father. Never mind that he parlayed that money into his own company and accumulated billions in wealth.
His wife is treated like the lowest form of human life, she is mocked even for her choice in clothing and the way she talks.
Even his youngest son (10 years old) is blasted and insulted by the media.
Trump now is facing down the North Koreans, but is depicted as a maniac.
North Korea is flat out threatening us with nuclear attack on a constant basis and going out of its way to demonstrate how close they are to accomplishing this threat, even though they do not yet have this capability. Trump has only threatened them, and told them of the consequence of there threatening actions, we have not gone past sanctions, no military actions taking place.

What is the difference?

Can't link from my crappy phone, but take a look at the April 1967 issue of Esquire.

Remember when Kennedys kid nose dived into the drink? They scrambled every Navy ship, plane and dinghy they could find to look for him.
Then a full honors military style funeral?
If that would have happened to me, a few Coasties would have sailed around for a little bit, then filed the event under "shit happens".
That whole episode amazed me!

You can have a military funeral, you just have to pay for it. You'll get the local reserve unit rather than a dedicated unit tasked with funerals and ceremonies.

The Kennedy's were dirty and I have no respect for them. JFK's father was a piece of crap,(so was JFK) and negotiated many things to benefit himself and his ilk. They played with the devil and liked it.

Hmm. I remember that one now that I see it, but I think I'm picturing a different one. Same idea, for sure. Thanks.
