Posting off my phone, sans wifi, so please forgive the brevity. Must admit that I have been hoping someone else would post with more information than I have. This has been on the Japanese TV news over the weekend, but have not seen or heard anything about it locally...

Grabbed the first link from a duckduckgo search: https://www.theguardian.com/wo...rch-and-hotel-blasts

Japanese TV has been calling it an attack by Islamists. There was one Japanese killed in the attack and from talking with Indian friends here at work, Americans were also murdered.

As I understand it, a church and hotel were bombed on Easter and from what a friend here at work saw from photos sent by friends there, it was horribly gruesome.

290 dead and up to 500 or more injured. At least 39 foreigners killed of which 4 are Americans. A local Islamic group, "National Thowheed Jama", is claiming the attack- it is suspected that the bombers had assistance internationally. The FBI have been volunteered and are helping.

Thank you, sir!

With how often it is being reported by the Japanese news, one would think it would be getting coverage, even here Roll Eyes

KLAVAN: It's Not Hateful To Speak The Truth About Islamist Violence

In the wake of the murderous Islamist attack on Christians in Sri Lanka, Democrats took to Twitter to extend their sympathies to people who don’t exist.

“The attacks on tourists and Easter worshippers in Sri Lanka are an attack on humanity,” blithered Barack Obama. “Easter worshippers” is an empty set, a category made up by Democrats that includes no actual humans. No one worships Easter. We celebrate Easter because we are Christians and it’s the day Christ triumphed over death. There was no such palaver when Muslims were recently attacked by a lunatic in New Zealand. Obama’s well-wishes went out to the nation and the “Muslim community” then.

This mealy-mouthed “Easter worshipper” dishonesty must’ve been in the talking points memo that made the Democrat rounds because a lot of them spewed it. Hillary Clinton mourned with “Easter worshippers and travelers.” Julian Castro repeated “Easter worshipers and tourists.” And so on.

And since we’re talking about dishonest Democrats, let’s take a look at how the New York Times covered the story. “Religious Minorities Across Asia Suffer Amid Surge in Sectarian Politics,” went their sidebar to the main tale. The piece went on to explain that Hindus in India are “pushing an us-versus-them philosophy that has left Muslims fearing they will be lynched if they walk alone.” Plus in Myanmar, the militia has been on a campaign against an ethnic minority that is Muslim. And some moderate Muslims haven’t been very moderate in Indonesia and Bangladesh.

All of which raises the question: what the hell are these idiots talking about?

Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world. A 2017 study by University of Notre Dame's Center for Ethics and Culture, the Religious Freedom Institute, and Georgetown University's Religious Freedom Research Project showed 7,100 Christians slaughtered specifically for their faith in 2015. In 2009, according to the secular International Society for Human Rights, Christians were the victims of 80 percent of all religious discrimination worldwide.

And Islam is the most violent religion. Muslims are involved in almost every major armed conflict going on today and they are responsible for a huge percentage of the terrorism around the world.

So when a hate-filled loon in New Zealand murders innocent Muslims at their prayers, it is despicable but anomalous, but when Muslims slaughter Christians in Sri Lanka, it is both despicable and representative of a trend. The Democrats and the press — but I repeat myself — act as if it were the other way around.

Christians are under attack. It is often Muslims who are attacking them. What are we to do with this information? It’s a good question but there are two things that certainly will not help: cover-ups and lies. We can see what’s happening right in front of our eyes. When leaders lie about or soft-soap it, it only makes us angrier. And it leaves the field open to bigots and haters who are now free to use the truth in support of their positions.

The “all religions are violent” dodge won’t wash either. People of all sorts can be violent but some philosophies support and multiply that violence and some work against it. Fascism is inherently violent. Democracy is not. Communism inevitably breeds oppression. Republicanism does not.

So in light of the facts, there are things we need to know. Is Islamic violence inherent to Islamic belief or is it a cultural cancer in the body of the religion? Do the large majority of non-violent Muslims support the violence? Do they support its aims of Islamic supremacism? And, of course, what can we do to stem the tide?

It is obvious that descending into sectarian violence is not the answer. But this is obvious too: Speaking the truth is a start. It’s the only way.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Sri Lanka had been emerging as the leader in the South Asia economy in the 1970s, with all sorts of export products beyond the traditional tea and spices. Then in the 1980s the "ethnic conflict" worsened to the point of civil war. That civil war raged for three decades, and tourism was once again picking up, the economy was getting back on its feet-- and now this horror.

The death toll will exceed 300, with more than 500 wounded. As BB61 noted, a Danish billionaire, a fashion mogul, lost three of his four children. One of so many horror stories.

In the US, (though not in the world), Islamic terror seemed to have abated. But they will never ever stop-- unless they are stopped. Now it's churches. Tomorrow, who knows? All we know is that they will continue murdering and terrorizing until every one of them is dead.

A month ago 50 Muslims were killed in New Zealand and the media world came to a crashing halt - it was non-stop, top story for days/weeks, with all the talk about hate, standing with oppressed Muslims, banning guns, etc.

Here's the Wapo's take on 300 Christians slaughtered in Sri Lanka:

Nothing on the hatred behind the perpetrators.

A whole new word had to be invented to describe those killed: Easter Worshipers. Never heard that description for Christians before, but the word went out for the news cycle and Hillary and Barack both used it. The blatant double standard by the media/libs is just mind blowing.

Thank you for saying this, it saved me the time of typing it out.

It is LONG past time to eradicate this problem.

And can we please stop calling them terrorists and call them what they are...muslims.

That wasn’t invented for Zimmerman, there are tens of millions of white Hispanics.

Ironically, Zimmerman himself does not classify as a white Hispanic, as he is Mestizo (half Caucasian/half indigenous).

"Easter Worshipper" is a term that can be interpreted 2 different ways: a person who worships Easter; or a person who worships Christ at Easter. The first is inaccurate, but is likely the way that the MSM would have it interpreted (they don't like religion, especially Christianity). The second is the true interpretation of the phrase. Christians do not "worship Easter", as Easter is just the day we take to celebrate Christ's resurrection following his sacrifice to save us from our sins. We worship Jesus the Christ.

To the extent they're reporting on it at all, the contortions that the MSM are going through to avoid saying "Muslim" or "Islamic/Islamist" are breathtaking.

"Religious extremists."

Right. Perhaps the bloodthirsty Methodists.

There's no longer even a pretext of objectivity, not the slightest effort to shield a completely transparent agenda and bias.

Some extremist are even saying it is justified and then mocking the "thoughts and prayers" of fellow Christians.
