Yes. Additionally, there is no proof millennials will ever become a majority. Baby boomers and Gen Xers are joiners but millennials are not. The generation behind you (Gen Z or iGen) is showing a lot of promise of not falling for all of the BS your generation is mocked for.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. My sons, GenZ, are very critical of the narrow mindedness of Millennials

I don't look down on Millennials. Unless I walk by and see your man-bun caught in your Prius door jam, and you've spilled your caramel latte on your skinny jeans and Pekapoo. Hell, I'll even hold your Cran-Tofu Kale salad while you call your mom and get her to go get your other key fob from your room there, so you can get yourself out of this mess Toyota has caused. Nope, don't look down on them at all. in fact, I have a friend that's a Millennial...

I don't try to paint groups of people with a broad brush. As long as someone can carry themselves properly in a civilized society, I don't care what age group they fall into. There are a lot of worthless POS folks in every age group.

I think we can all agree that the majority of them suck. There's still a very large percentage that does not suck. I'm married to a millennial, she's awesome.

I won't make fun of or look down on any individual, but the class as a whole is fair game.

I was born within that bracket of the Millennial generation. I fit some of the stereotypes. Others. Most certainly do not. Blanket, absolute “all those stupud millennials” statements are as general as any other stereotyping. “All whites” “all cops” “all men” “all boomers” etc.

But Im indifferent, as an individual, to the generalizations - if its an avocado toast meme, i fuckin hate avocado. Doesnt apply to me. Millennial college kids are stupid? Yep. I see them all the time, but whats the reason theyre stupid? I see the vegan, skinny-jeans-wearing anti-capitalist, socialist, starvucks-drinking, macbook-toting soyboys and feminazis, too, and that critera dont apply to me, and I see them for what they are - therefore, i am unfazed. As for the “millennials are killing the XX industry” articles, yeah. Im definitely guilty of not spending my money on certain things, i suppose, contributing to the death of Applebees and hurting the diamond industry. But i work hard for my money, to better my life, to provide for my family, and to improve our future. I do me.

I see the truth behind the general loathing of millennials, despite “being one.” Like Para said - if the shoe fits. I know it sometimes fits me, but definitely and deliberately not with most of the stereotype.

Yep. I just think our general loathing might be better applied to "Progressives" and not "Millennials".

"Progressives?" Bullshit. Leftists co-opted the word when "liberal" developed a bad connotation. They like it because if you're not "progressive," you're regressive. I'm not. You're not. They're just liberals at best, Leftists at worse. The Democrat Party is loaded with the latter right now.

Someone having a millennial moment?

The OP is not a millennial; he's in his mid-50's.

Well some here say that all of the hippies of the 60's and 70's were leftist free shit commune dwelling spare change begging mooches.

Not all hippies were, at least with my group of friends. We became machinists, engineers, managers, business owners.

In fact I voted for Nixon in 1972 and Republican in each Presidential election since except for 1988. I missed that one, I was busy that night after my "real" job as a auto dealership parts manager playing EMT/Firefighter to well into the morning after the election.

Not many "Hippies" were conservative in the 60s/70s. "Hippie" was not an age-specific label. There are plenty of "Hippies" still active today. To my mind, the term "Hippie" is similar to the current "Progressive". At least regarding their political leanings. (Musical tastes and appearances not included in this analysis. Times change)

Many "Hippies" grew up and changed and enjoyed respectable lives. We can only hope that modern "Progressives" might do the same. But then you have Sanders. Hippie, Progressive, Marxist. Face-palm.

Thats it right there. Every age group has members that "give us a bad name". God bless our Millennials that are serving in the military, and as LEOs and First Responders.

That's funny, my parents are boomers. You think that describes me?

Sweeping generalizations clearly work great.

All millennials aren't the problem. But, if you find someone today who is emotionally crippled, entitled, smug, self centered and generally worthless in the workplace, you've probably found a millennial.

The everyone-gets-a-trophy helicopter parented people, those are typically millennials. The "pajama boy" types, millennials. Anyone who uses "woke" and means it... and more.

Most of the insufferable people in their mid twenties I come across, are representing their generation badly. Those in their 30's seem to have outgrown it, if they were ever exposed.

When most people think of "millennial," they're thinking of a hipsteresque far left gender neutral wastoid with a man bun, and skinny jeans.

If someone is reading this website, and owns firearms, they probably don't fit the stereotype of a millennial, if they are in that age range. The care and feeding of firearms is anathema to the SJW types.

Gen X were worthless deadbeat slackers right? None of these things apply to everybody. There were plenty of worthless assholes in "the greatest generation," we just never hear of them. For every exceptional person of any generation, there are countless more asses to fill the rest of the seats.

Arc.

Exactly. As time moves on, we will likely find a different label for those "worthless assholes" than "Millennial". I do believe that "Progressive" or Marxist" will win that test of time. Those people will always be "worthless assholes".
