My other half's job is delivering meds so we are still running all over south Louisiana doing that. The traffic is better now. When doing getting calls for runs I wait for the grass to grow so I can get on the mower.

I’m in LE with a small town department in Colorado. Calls are way down, no proactive activity allowed except threats to public safety and handle everything you possibly can by email and phone. Haven’t really seen an uptick in DV yet. I towed a car on a parking complaint, our CSO usually takes those calls and she nearly killed me because it would have given her something to do. I let her do the inventory to save my own skin. You know it’s bad when cops are fighting over parking calls and WANT to do a vehicle inventory. Our Chief is pretty good: got us the masks, gloves and sanitizer we need and doesn’t run around with his hair on fire reacting to every single new thing. He laid out some SOPs at the start that have stood the test of time and we aren’t changing things every other shift like some neighboring agencies. Overall I’m impressed.

My wife mostly worked from home before this so not much has changed there. She’s in high tech sales, so that market is down except in health care... everybody else is tightening up and saving as much money as they can. With factories closed in China they’re mostly working on how to fill the orders they do have, and helping customers repurpose old servers and storage since budgets have been cut but network traffic has increased 300%.

I’ve been a mild to moderate prepper for years. We have a good six month supply of essentials, we do make occasional supply runs for luxuries like diet Mountain Dew. We try to order in from a local restaurant at least once per week just to help them out.

Doing fine. Our kids are cooped up with their kids, from one month to 11 years old, and its tough on them. But they've got good kids and they will be okay. Fortunately, their jobs are safe for now and they have paychecks.

People who aren't getting pay checks are being hurt badly by this so although I am about as far from being a socialist as you can get, anything we can do to help the people who work hard but have to live paycheck to paycheck gets my vote.

I anticipate work will roar back over the summer and my part-time job in retirement will be pretty busy. Hope to resume taking our modest fun trips (day trips, camping, etc.) by the end of the summer.

Thanks for asking the question, BTW.

As for me, I'm lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Although I bailed on American many many years ago to be at a cargo carrier just because of something like this.

The good news: air cargo rates are through the roof, fuel is cheap and the company is making a killing now.

Bad news: I still go all around the world, and every country has different rules that change on an almost daily basis. I have had my temperature taken more in the last month than in my entire previous lifetime. Most places we go now either have us locked down in the hotel, or you can go get to go food from somewhere close.

But I still have a job, I know that I am moving stuff around that is needed so I am glad to be out here on the road.

My wife and I are both essential employees. wich is a blessing and a curse. because having the income is nice but I am worried about my wife as she is an asthmatic. Wearing the PPE for 8 hours does suck as well.

The staying in the house doesnt bother me much. used to long winters and I have a full compliment of cable/ netflix/ internet to stay occupied. trying to keep shopping to a minimum.

We're retired so our routine hasn't changed dramatically. Both of us are considered high risk so we just don't go anywhere except to the store every 2 weeks or so. We got a call from my stepson this morning saying that he has a fever but no other symptoms, so that's a little worrisome. I told him to call his doctor tomorrow morning and ask if he needs to be tested.

One thing I've noticed is how much money we're saving by not eating out and other activities that cost money.

Doing OK, I'm retired and I don't like crowds, so this isn't as bad for me as others. My wife is considered essential, and is fortunately working from home instead of Cali or being stuck overseas.

Missing going to the health club, but the weather is warming up and walking the dog / hiking is a decent substitute for now. We are watching a lot of TV together, when we can find something new, although I've put my foot down on her normal news addiction (Fox, thank God), because I can't stand all Covid all the time. We really haven't had much trouble getting food, even managed to get enough TP and such for a few more weeks. Trying to get take out from the local spots as much as is realistic, to hopefully keep them afloat until the governor lifts the restrictions, although it may be to late by then, since they make almost all their money while the snowbirds are here. I inventoried the ammo last week and figured I had over a year's worth, so no worries there.

Our son got laid off just before all this started, so he is having trouble as far as getting a new job right now. Just about had him moved out, too. But he is here with us, so we aren't worrying about him.

All the relatives are healthy, even our elderly moms with underlying conditions.

Really doing better than a lot of people right now.

Kids are doing distance learning, and it seems to be going ok. It feels like I've been working from home forever. I broke an elbow and a wrist last week, so getting comfortable with voice controlling my computer and not really sleeping. We had a zoom Passover seder, and a nice socially distant Easter egg hunt with the neighbors this weekend.

We are definitely blessed as we are considered essential (foodstuff warehouse). We work for a great company and the owners are taking this well. We are doing what we can to generate business from avenues we haven’t used before. The overall restaurant closures has hit us pretty hard.
Wife and I don’t venture out often, only to go to work and stock back up in groceries.
I decided to quit drinking. Not sure if this is the best time, but whatever. I quit smoking when we moved halfway across the country. This should be easy.
I have never stockpiled ammo. Now I regret it. None to be had, so going out shooting isn’t really a possibility.
Went to Costco on Saturday. No TP or paper towels. No mayo. The no mayo pissed me off. Like how can you eat tuna without mayo?
I don’t sleep enough.
I stress about my wife getting this as she wouldn’t fare well.
I type things like this out and realize that I am in a pretty good position and quite blessed.
Today it’s supposed to rain. All day. Not very excited about that.

- Going stir crazy. Need to go to gym, range, anywhere
- Did visit with granddaughter twice, now back in quarantine
- Garage cleanup project has gotten to the point that it’s painful to go back in; need to finish it. When I say painful I mean not only psychologically but physically because of back
- Time to do some reading: Roman history; Jerry Pournelle’s military science fiction

My life hasn’t really changed..except there are new people aboard here all day...Mrs Mike works from home four days a week and the Tomminator has been out of school since mid March.

His teachers give them work but he’s done in an hour nd plays on the computer the rest of the time. His karate skills have really taken a hit. He is due to test for second black belt in June...he knows the stuff but he is 11teen and needs someone to guide him.

We’ve been able to UNREP weekly and I bump into the whisky bouy on my way around while out on the small boat!

My range training has really slacked off as I need to keep the Tomminator from bothering Mrs. Mike. I got a set of grips and bushings for a 1911 and I modified my Ruger MKIII 22/45 so it has grips now. So both guns are the same...little man wanted his own pistol, so I made it happen.

I think Mrs. Mike is handling it OK. Tomminator is treating it like summer break. And it’s OPS normal for me with a few bumps in the road.

Break...

My big kid has been out of work (cuts hair) in NC, and has had a very hard financial situation. We’ve sent him a grand and my mom hold his mortgage, she put the payments off to the end, and he has had very hard time getting assistance. I sent him part of my gov check. And he is treading water. The commie governor in NC is fighting re-opening tooth and nail...don’t know when he can go back to work. Just hoping he can weather this...

I was laid off in October with a decent severance (I was RIF'ed). I have been at home with the wife every day since (she works from home for a national communications company). So, from October until March, me and the wife have been training for this Smile

We have decided we like this so much that I may not have to go back to a professional career position and instead get a part time job at the local fun store. Milk that for 6 years until my planned retirement (at 55).

Mental and physical health are excellent even though we have a RINO POS governor that is doing his best impersonation of a power-hungry democrat and beat us down with extended closures and moronic rules.

I hope those of you that are in dire straits because of this find some relief somehow.

Annnnnddd we just were told by karate teacher he lost his building for not paying rent....I guess he has lost a buncha student as we haven’t seen half of them on zoom meetings ....the karate parents are all bitching online about it right now.

I mentioned putting themselves in his shoes and they aren’t having it right now....

We will see. There’s a guy in the next town that might be getting some new students

Work for the Army as a Dept of the Army Civilian Police, so I'm considered essential. We are working reduced schedules but still getting full pay. I was exposed to a security guard on post who got the virus. Did my quarantine but had no symptoms so I'm back at work. We have had no major jumps in crime on base. Social distancing and masks required at the PX, Commissary and Medical. We were required to wear masks anytime we got out of the patrol cars or couldn't maintain social distancing. No traffic stops except for life threatening/major issues, Our governor has extended expired license's and license plates for at least 30 days or until the lockdown is over here. Barber shops/salons opened back up on 18 May, 2020. Thank goodness I look like a mountain man.

Well, the good news is the gym is opening tomorrow, but our trainer won't be back for a week - stupid corporate decision, as he is normally their top trainer.

Too bad about the karate instructor / school, good ones can be hard to find.
