Met him many years ago when he stayed in our town. Worked a overnight security detail guarding a stairwell.

5am he opens the door to the stairwell and pops in . He's full of energy and we are barely awake after 14 hours.

Chatted for a while and thanked us. Told us to see his ss detail who would have breakfast sent over and give us a tour of the command center.

Through the years that set up a great working relationship with the secret servive when in the ny area.

RIP.

I read this article about his service today and found it very interesting and well written.

Drove by the George Bush Center for Intelligence last Monday. Seeing him being sworn in is one of my earliest childhood memories.

This seems to reflect who he was. Reading some of the posts here this highlights what makes a man great even in is passing.
