He's trying to make inroads here. This past Saturday I went to a sandwich shop and a supermarket, and in between them was a "Mike 2020" campaign office in the process of being set up. Good luck with that. This is Trump and gun country if I ever saw any.

You have no idea what you are up against. He will spend Billions to win. Be ready for this. Mods feel free to delete my other thread. I did not realize this topic was active.

Sure, but I don't think he can win the Dem. nomination. We will know soon enough: he will have to do well on Super Tuesday.
But I hear you: he has the ability to spend enough money to make the eventual nominee competitive. He will likely be the power/money behind the scenes rather than the candidate. He doesn't have the charisma.

The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I know you keep saying this. Here’s my counterpoint. The only way Trump loses is if there is a very lackluster conservative turnout. You can spend billions and billions and it won’t change the dozens of interviews where you clearly tell the peasantry to shut up and allow the elite ruling class to tell you what’s good for you. Plus, stop and frisk.

So guns are bad, poor people are stupid, the entire middle of the country can’t make decisions for themselves, people of color need to be stopped and frisked.

Billions and billions translates into exposure. On his case that isn’t always good.I guess he could pay to bus dead people to vote.

No, he does not have the charisma. But that is not the plan. Why would Bloomberg spend a billion to get to this point? I predict Bloomberg will be the candidate. That is my bet. We should deal with that possibility asap.

This is going to get interesting. He has the personality of a dead fish. One that's been dead for a week or more. Smile He keeps beating on gun control and keeping the illegal guns out of the city. Except he defines all guns as bad and plans on making them all illegal. I'm still awaiting Para's comet, or the virus. Maybe the
'bola has lost its chance, but the corona is stepping into the void.

I don't care what he does. It'll give the socialists someone on stage to attack for a few months. Just like the 'bola, its burning itself out fast enough. This may save me some money. I'd planned on donating to Trumps campaign, still am. What this is going to do is make all the minor socialist candidates burn up their funding by mid summer. All the fools who donate to them will be pretty much milked dry by election time.

The old class warfare they depend on will be getting old by then. They've decided on health care as a winner. Except the magic negro pretty much destroyed it. Working people lost their once great health care, and its been replaced with care for the non-working. Free is OK, except when you take it away from the working class. When they start talking about it, ask some workers what really happened to their health care costs. For many of them, it went from pretty good to a deductible of $5000 or higher. That's pretty high for a family living pay check to pay check.

It also makes it pretty difficult to save for retirement. I just hope they don't steal my SS and Medicaare.

If you want to counter someone that maybe considering Bloomberg and is a tad to the left, dont mention the 2nd Amendment. Point out that as mayor of NY he had by far the most racist police tactic that was a complete violation of the 4th Amendment (and the 5th), "stop and frisk" and only "apologized" after a Fed court struck it down. Then mention is seemingly disregard for the 1st Amendment when he instructed his new agencies not to investigate any Dems.

Look right at them a say, if you want to elect a racist that has no regard for the Bill of Rights, he is your man. Then calmly point out that Trump has begun to repeal all of the Clinton Mass Incarceration laws.....with a big smile...

I'd take that bet.
Which of these Super Tuesday states do you think Bloomie is going to win? My guess is none of them.

Super Tuesday refers to the Tuesday in a presidential election year when the largest number of states and territories hold a presidential preference primary or caucus. In 2020, Super Tuesday will be held on March 3.

Fifteen jurisdictions and the Democrats Abroad are expected to hold a primary event on Super Tuesday.

Alabama
American Samoa
Arkansas
California
Colorado
Democrats Abroad
Maine
Massachusetts
Minnesota
North Carolina
Oklahoma
Tennessee
Texas
Utah
Vermont
Virginia

With both California and Texas—the two most populous states in the United States—holding their primaries on Super Tuesday, more than one third of the U.S. population is expected to vote on March 3.

So... let's look at some data.

Michael R. Bloomberg. Elected mayor of New York City -- as a Republican! Even though he was a lifelong Democrat, he held his office for two terms before becoming an Independent and winning his third election.

It seems party affiliation means little any more. It only matters when one is counting on the purse of the party kingmakers, it seems. Both Trump and Reagan before him were Democrats before running for national office. Bernie Sanders isn't a registered Democrat, but he's running for that party's nomination. And Obama and the Clintons were just out-and-out criminals, no matter what.

Leopards don't change their spots. No matter what sign Bloomberg hangs around his neck, he's still going to smell like a rotten fish.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

All the Dems have serious flaws in their bid right now.
Only Bloomberg remains the dark horse.
Not that I think he will beat Trump but it's just that I am unaware of what his Achilles heel is at this point.
The uber-money is an equalizing factor for making hay but I don't know how each "group" will support him.
I think he will rise but will it be enough - not sure?
Still only DJT is on a solid path but he shouldn't/can't (and won't) take anything for granted.
It's going to be interesting.

His Achilles is that he has the personality of a potato. He isn’t personable. He isn’t relatable. He makes Joe Biden look cool and hip.

Pick a topic and look at his interviews. He comes off like an idiot. Even to the untrained he comes across as a smug, rich white guy who has an opinion about everything.

Saw a Drudge headline about Kirk Douglas' last words being about Bloomburg. I'm not turning off my ad blocker for the Milwalkee whateverthefuck newspaper, but I sure hope the guy didn't live to over 100 years old to waste his last words to endorsing his preferred billionaire overlord. Especially while there are so many more important issues, like our stealing milk from cows.

He will not get elected. I doubt he even gets the nomination. He is very good at throwing his money around and it is the causes he has backed that ultimately will be his downfall. This guy projects nothing but elitism. He knows what is best for you, just ask him.

This is not an endorsement for the guy, just reality.
Bloomberg will end up being their guy.
They have no choice.
The Democrat party will likely have a brokered convention, largely due to rules Sanders forced into place giving proportional delegates in primaries, not winner take all.
At the convention the party machine will take over behind the scenes and they have no other choice but Bloomberg.
The Democrat machine had to appease the Bernie supporters, thinking he would somehow go away before this. If nothing else, his heart. Hasn’t happened, still could. But if not, then what?
Bloomberg, his money, and never Trumpers, that’s where they’re going.

Yeah, could be.
But when the Bernie Bros go into the convention with the most delegates and come out of the convention empty handed... all hell will break loose on the Dem side.
It will get crazy, but Trump will win in November.
