Update:

Well, my daughter ended up with the highest score on her team and their team came in 4th place. Mist important, she had fun and represented the club well. I'm proud that she was invited to shoot and was not intimidated to be shooting with/against adults.

This weekend Copper Star in Camp Verde is hosting a team tournament. It's an open tournament meaning there's no age, gender or equipment divisions. The pro staff from our shop is sending a mens team and a ladies team.

One of the ladies had to drop at the last minute. Well they asked our daughter if she would shoot with the team this weekend. So our 12 year old daughter is going to go shoot with the big dogs this weekend.

To say that I'm honored that they think enough of our daughter to invite her onto the team with the adults is an understatement.

Outstanding! Looking forwards to see how well she does.

I'm beginning to think Maya is a 24 years old in a 12 year old's body.

Go Maya!

It sure sounds like she's earned it.
Think about how few of her peers will ever know that feeling.
You are doing a great job raising a great young woman.

"The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. 'Make it evil,' he'd been told. 'Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams
