Used to stop there now and then wheni travelled for work. But everytime I tried to order a favorite sandwich, they had removed it from the menu.
Their bread is OK but I bake my own.

Panera experimented with several "pay whatever you like" locations but their sad socialist experiment ended in failure, since nobody wanted to pay anything.

Love the cheddar-broccoli soup and he bread. They were frequently out of the soup and other items on the expensive menu.
I make my own version of the soup now (and occasionally bread) - much cheaper and we freeze the extra for a lazy night when we don’t feel like cooking. Heats up just as good.

IMHO: Panera offers offer high prices, small portions and not very tasty food. The bread is okay, but very over priced as well. I would look elsewhere for a better value and more appealing fan fare.

I will not be going inside. I'm just happy to use a drive-thru that has some decent food besides the McDonalds, Burger Kings, KFC's and Checkers. Out of all the fast food drive-thru's I prefer Wendys because they have salads that are alright. The new Panera just built was across US 1 from Wendy's and it kinda peaked an interest.

I haven't sat in any restaurant for quite some time and don't foresee it anytime soon, so drive-thru's are good. Prices aside.

My favorite drive-through is the Popeye's just a block from my house. Their green beans are great, and the chicken is OK (at least it's fully cooked). I also like the Taco Bell a mile away (but I only eat tacos, without cheese).

Yes, I've done the Popeye's drive thru for their sides and biscuit's before. Their popcorn shrimp is ok also, but now I'm looking to decrease sodium so claims are higher for shrimp, sadly.

As previously stated, Panera requested people not bring firearms into their stores.

The CEO was reasonably cool about it - but he knew he had to walk the line to not completely alienate a potentially large segment of his customer base.

I've seen no signs posted - but they did ASK.

Not a problem there. I understand property rights.

The problem is, the decision to make the request was a response to Moms Demand Action - that was inquiring with thousands of businesses - insisting they ban firearms from their properties. Arm twisting.

Panera didn't completely fold - but opted to pacify both sides.

They ARE overpriced and have small portions. Nothing in there is worth what they are asking.

I don't go there, anymore, but when I did, I was carrying.

No, I don't eat there 3x a week. What do you mean?

(I live 5 minutes from one, and since I work from home, consider it my cafeteria. Yes, it is over-priced, but everything in the Bay Area is.)

Looks tasty enough. Within 5min I've got an Arby's also that has some pretty good sandwiches too, plus the triple choc chip cookies or the caramel choc chip cookies, very tasty.

I will give Panera's drive-thru a go maybe sometime this next week. I just talked to my BIL, he said he eats at one weekly and my sister loves their breads. Worth at least a try.

It is essentially a foo-foo overpriced sandwich/soup place, and there are better, less expensive alternatives. Mom and pop shops and Jersey Mike's blow away Panera Breads.

If I don't know the area and need food I'll go to one. As a first choice, no.

On the average I go to Panera about once a year.
