I used to wear a bow tie once in a while (what else would you wear with your seersucker suit), but haven't in years. Learn to tie them. Clip on ties are for chumps.

I have a few bowties and usually wear them if I am wearing a suit and I hand tie them, I would never wear a clip on. Watch a few youtube videos it isn't that hard.

I've got a handful of regular ties but I haven't even worn them in years now. Never owned or worn a bow tie, and I have no clue how to tie one.

One of the specialists I see annually wears a bow tie and is impeccably dressed along with it. And it's never the same set up. He's probably late 60's, takes care of himself, and always looks like a million bucks. And his bowtie really sets him apart. And it's not a business suit, it's hard to describe, but he's the best dressed professional I've ever seen. Vitreous retinal surgeon something or other. Whether they are "in" or "out", bowties are timeless and they rock.

I have several and all are the hand tie variety. I prefer them to the long ties, but that is a personal choice IMO. I do get compliments on my choice of ties, though....
